Long Island’s 106.1 BLI is making sure you have the best summer ever! Last month, they brought back Summer Jam at the Nikon Jones Beach Theater, with artists like Austin Mahone, Cody Simpson, AJR and New Hollow. And now they are bringing Jake Miller to NY for a concert at The Paramount on August 18th!
Tickets go on sale this Friday, July 25th at 10AM EST. There will be a BLI presale starting tomorrow, July 24th at 10AM. Make sure you tune into 106.1 for the presale code! They’ll also be giving away tickets to some lucky listeners!

When it came time for Long Island pop punk band Patent Pending to make a video for their hit single “Hey Mario” they decided to take the Rainbow Road less traveled. The band figured – why not form a fake band and make a documentary showcasing the rise and fall of said fake band, Spinal Tap style. Thus “Mario & The Brick Breakers” came to be. Not being a band to do anything half way, they even created a “Mario & The Brick Breakers: Greatest Hits EP” to go along with the 30 minute documentary that will be broken up into 5 separate videos. NYC based trio THE HEYDAZE, part of the iHeartRadio & Macy’s Rising Star lineup for 2014, haven’t been around for that long but we have no doubts that you’ll be hearing a lot from these guys in the future. THE HEYDAZE just had their first headlining show at New York’s Webster Hall last week – and it was a sold out show!

Full disclosure: We used to think Rixton’s “Me and My Broken Heart” was a Maroon 5 song. Until we got to the chorus and started singing the words to “I don’t wanna be lonely no more” and then got confused when Rob Thomas wasn’t singing along with us. But it’s exactly these influences that have made Rixton such a success in the US with their first single. And the track was actually co-written by Rob Thomas, so don’t feel bad for them ripping off “Lonely No More.” That hook was just so good the first time around, why not remix it?
Rixton are heading out on a major headlining US tour this summer! They’ve already sold out dates in New York and Los Angeles (but don’t worry, they added additional shows in each city!) The much anticipated new song from Warner Brothers recording artist Jake Miller is officially available!! It’s called “First Flight Home” and it’s everything we could imagine from Jake.
He raps about texting his girl, who he hasn’t seen forever, that he’ll be home in no time, he’s catching the first flight home. Co-written by Brandyn Burnette (he’s also written for Hot Chelle Rae and MKTO), “First Flight Home” quickly climbed to the top of the iTunes charts.
