Ben Giroux, Jensen Reed & Jared Lee just released a music video tribute to the greatest decade of all time, the 1990s. The video stars Garrett Clayton as a boyband member, in a role that he was born to play. “Back To The 90s” is a catchy song that throws in everything you loved about the 90s in one four minute track that hits on all the musical styles of the decade. It’s a known fact among fangirls that NKOTB are notoriously bad at keeping secrets. Last week when they teased a huge announcement was going to be made on the TODAY show, it took Blockheads about 5 minutes to figure it out. But if there is anyone worse at keeping a secret, it’s Paula Abdul. After finishing her set at the Mixtape Festival over the Summer, she quickly told the crowd “I’m going on tour with NKOTB & Boyz II Men next year bye!” Which left us with so many questions for Paula. When does it start? What venues? When do pre-sales start?
Luckily for us, that day has come! On the TODAY show this morning, NKOTB officially announced the “Total Package Tour” with Boyz II Men and Paula Abdul will kick off in May in Columbus, OH! Tickets go on sale to the public on Saturday, November 19th. Pre-sales for Blockhead members and Amex cardholders start TOMORROW, Wednesday, November 16th.
NKOTB are the absolute best at giving you all the on-sale info you could ever need. Head over to NKOTB.com for all the info on pre-sales, VIP packages, and more. There is even a very detailed plan of the stage to help plan your ticket buying! And if you struggle with figuring out what “local venue time” means, they have a handy time zone converter. (Dear NKOTB team, please teach other artists how to do on-sales, thank you.)
The tour is hitting major arenas across the US, along with stops at Fenway Park (which should be another epic show) and Hollywood Bowl. This is Paula Abdul’s first tour in over 25 years. She CRUSHED IT at Mixtape Festival! And NKOTB and Boyz II Men always BRING IT each and every night. This is one tour you do not want to miss. Check out all of the tour dates below!

Please enjoy this video of Joey McIntyre from the 2015 Main Event Tour.
We had the chance to see O-Town in 2016 at Mixtape Festival and were blown away by how incredible they looked and sounded. Their set was SO MUCH FUN (who doesn’t love “Liquid Dreams”?), their outfits were on point (overalls + tie dye = yes), and the new material they played was excellent. We’re excited to hear they are working on their 4th studio album after wrapping up their Summer tour with 98 Degrees.
O-Town launched an official Kickstarter campaign for the album, the first album in the band’s history to be free of any label, funded fully by fans for fans! The campaign was a success – they met their goal in an incredible 7 hours! You can still support the album campaign and earn prizes like the overalls Trevor wore on the My2K Tour, the chance to be their tour manager for a day, or a private O-Town concert. And of course, you’ll get a copy of the new album when it’s released! Head over to their Kickstarter page now to pledge your support for the future of boybands.
If you (like us) have been going through NKOTB withdrawl every day since your last show (of 3) of The Main Event Tour, you’re in luck! NKOTB announced they are coming back to Mixtape Festival in 2016! This will be their only concert in 2016 as they have no plans to tour this year. (Which only means we can’t wait to see what they have in store for 2017!) Mixtape Festival is a blast – the fest is at the beautiful Hersheypark Stadium in Hershey, PA – and features all of your favorite 90s artists. This year’s performers include Boyz II Men, 98 Degrees, O-Town & more! It will also mark Paula Abdul’s return to the stage.
Pre-sales for Block Nation members start this Saturday, April 23rd at 10am! As a BN member, you’ll also have access to a special pre-show, members only event on August 5th. For FREE! Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, April 29th at 10am. VIP packages will also be available, including meet and greets and after party access. Head over to MixtapeFestival.com for all the info!

Nick Carter just dropped the music video for his brilliantly titled new single “19 in 99.” Don’t we all wish we could go back to 1999? Think of all the concerts and “TRL” tapings you could go to! We can’t decide which Nick in the video is our favorite, although we might have to go with Backstreet Nick dressed in all white. Look out for a familiar pizza delivery man in the video too. We can’t wait to hear this song on Nick’s upcoming solo tour! Check out all of the dates HERE! Watch “19 in 99” below!

We could all use a little warming up right now, as we’ve been dreaming about being on the beach while we’re piled under a mountain of snow. How about being on the beach with the New Kids on the Block? Sounds like a perfect fangirl getaway to us! NKOTB just announced their 8th annual cruise for 2016 is taking off from New Orleans and heading down to Cozumel, Mexico in October. Pre-sales start this Wednesday, January 27th for Block Nation members, so we hope like any good fangirl you’ve been putting money in your New Kids cruise fund! Head over to NKOTBCruise.com for all of the info!

If you’ve seen “Rock This Boat,” you know what an epic adventure/party the cruise is. And you never know what could happen on the boat! Like that time there was a wedding and Joey walked the bride down the aisle and Donnie officiated (literal fangirl tears every time Joey appears in that captain’s outfit help)
Nickelodeon announced this week that they are expanding their 90s TV lineup with a new programming block called “The Splat.” “The Splat” will air every night from 10pm to 6am (no more staying up until Midnight to catch “Hey Arnold!”) and feature all your favorite 90s Nick shows. Here are some of our favorite shows we hope to see on the lineup when it launches October 5th!
1. “Hey Arnold”
Unlike some shows, “Hey Arnold” is just as awesome as it was when you were also in 4th grade.
2. “Doug”
Doug and Skeeter were such fangirls for The Beets (so are we).
3. “Clarissa Explains It All” The 90s fashion icon.
4. “The Adventures of Pete & Pete” The show’s theme song by Polaris was just one of the many amazing things about Pete and Pete.
5. “Are You Afraid Of The Dark?” Submitted for the approval of the Midnight Society…
It’s boyband week over at Billboard.com, AKA the greatest thing ever. Every week should be boyband week. In honor of the occasion, Billboard staffers held a fantasy boyband draft, assembling their dream teams. For this week’s Friday Five, we decided to get in on the fun and do our own boyband draft and create 2 super boybands: J5 and *Big Time Boys on the Block°. The only rules were that you can’t pick 2 members from the same band. Check out our picks and vote for your favorite!
Team A: J5 (JC, Joey, James, Jeff and Jesse)
JC Chasez
One of the greatest male vocalists, ever. He can still hit ALL the notes, and he hasn’t aged a day since “Bye Bye Bye.”
Joey McIntyre
Just watch this performance from The Main Event Tour, and you’ll know why Joey is the MVP of any boyband. Those vocals. Those moves. Those abs.
James Maslow
We knew James was a national treasure during Big Time Rush’s run, but he further proved it in his run to the final 3 of “Dancing With The Stars.” Enjoy.
Jeff Timmons
Jeff has had the most uh, interesting post-boyband career. He brings the moves for sure. Fun fact we somehow just discovered: He was part of a “man band” on VH1 called “Sureshot” with Chris Kirkpatrick, Rich Cronin and Bryan Abrams in 2007.
Jesse McCartney
The most underrated former boyband member (Dreamstreet!). His last single, “Punch Drunk Recreation,” and the accompanying video (where J Mac basically leads his own boyband) have not gotten nearly enough love.
Team B: *Big Time Boys on the Block°
Nick Carter
Nick has had his struggles in the past but he overcame them and continues to BRING IT every night on stage giving 110% during every show. He also likes to make up his own moves on stage which is always A+ in my book.
Donnie Wahlberg
Do you watch NKOTV every week on A&E? NO?? You should. It’s the greatest night for television and you’ll see why Donnie Wahlberg is my top pick for boyband. He knows how to treat the fans, he’s great to his wife (secret fangirl: Jenny McCarthy) and his family. Plus – watch this video for further proof of A+ boybanding.
Nick Lachey
Another former boyband member who has a TV show about his own restaurant (“Raising The Bar” on A&E every Wednesday night.) Let’s face it, Nick Lachey was the best looking member of 98* and he’s been the most successful – aside from Jeff Timmons’ stripper revue.
Kendall Schmidt
Kendall has seamlessly transitioned into boyband member to acoustic singer-songwriter while not alienating any fans from either end of the spectrum. He’s got a good voice, and whether he wants to admit it or not – this boy can DANCE! Plus, he’s got great hair.
Joey Fatone
He appeared on Hannah Montana, dancing with the stars, various food critic reality shows, and he’s still the most underrated member of *N SYNC. Let’s not forget that Joey was also in “On The Line” with Lance.
We might have took the long way, but we finally got to see Shania Twain in concert for the first time last night! There may or not have been some fangirl tears shed at the show. Shania’s “Rock This Country” Tour hit Madison Square Garden, for what is likely her last NYC show … ever. (Shania announced in advance that this would be her final tour.) She proved time and again that after all this time, she’s still the one.
If you’ve seen videos from Shania’s “Still The One: Live From Vegas” show, you might be expecting her to pull out all the stops for her final tour. After all, that show had everything: elaborate sets, horses, backup dancers, many costume changes, etc. But the “Rock This Country” Tour set is surprisingly simple. The stage had the large video screens, pyro and moving parts we’ve come to expect from arena tours, but the real focus was on the music. Shania’s voice and stage presence alone are enough to get the whole crowd rocking. Her voice is as strong as ever, and yes, she can still hit that note in “From This Moment On.” Her large band also helped put the “rock” in the “Rock This Country” Tour! The show was a full blown rock show, and Shania’s band proved that you can rock out on a fiddle! During Shania’s costume changes, her band played impressive arrangements of her biggest hits, keeping the energy high.
This was a Shania Twain show after all, so of course she had some surprises in store! During “Any Man Of Mine,” she took a tour of the arena on a moving mini-stage, getting closer to the fans in the back. She later went “up up up” on a fringed saddle, riding around the runway. Shania also took some time to interact with the lucky fans in the front row! She was hi-fiving and signing things without missing a single note. Shania even handed off the mike during “Don’t Be Stupid (You Know I Love You)”
Shania has so many hits that her nearly 2-hour set went by in a flash. We could have stayed for another 2 hours, and she certainly would have had enough music to fill it! The arena-wide singalong that happened during “You’re Still The One” was one of the loudest and most emphatic we’ve ever heard. Everyone in the Garden was screaming every word. Chills.
The “Rock This Country” Tour runs through the end of October, and like we said, it’s Shania’s final tour, ever. So don’t be stupid and get your tickets now!
