The video stars Garrett Clayton as a boyband member, in a role that he was born to play. “Back To The 90s” is a catchy song that throws in everything you loved about the 90s in one four minute track that hits on all the musical styles of the decade. It’s Friday and it’s St. Patrick’s Day which means time for an Irish themed Friday Five! While we probably won’t be joining the NYC St. Patrick’s Day parade festivities, we’ll just sit here wearing our green, and quietly wish Disney was playing “Luck Of The Irish” on TV tonight. Helloooo!! NKOTB wrote this to be the Boston Celtics theme song and to be Irish, you gotta be hangin’ tough! On tour, the New Kids sample Dropkick Murphys as well for the intro so double yes!
Flogging Molly – “Drunken Lullabies” As far as Celtic influenced bands go, Flogging Molly is a tried and true classic. If you’re looking for something to get yourself in the spirit of the holiday, these guys are top notch!
Dropkick Murphys – “Shipping Up To Boston”
Whether you realize this song is by Dropkick Murphys or not, you have heard this song and we’re pretty sure you love it as much as we do. NKOTB sample this for the “Hanging Tough” intro on tour, athletes use it as their walk up song, and in numerous commercials. This is the officially unofficial theme song for the city of Boston, MA. We rest our case.
B*Witched – “C’est La Vie”
Arguably one of the most underrated artists from the late 90s and early 2000s, B*Witched are still touring. Currently, they are on tour in Australia with Atomic Kitten and Liberty X. We had a hard time picking between “Rollercoaster” and C’est La Vie” but that’s just life and this is just a classic song!
House Of Pain – “Jump Around”
It’s Friday, and it’s a holiday. Go ahead, jump around. We won’t judge you! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

It’s a known fact among fangirls that NKOTB are notoriously bad at keeping secrets. Last week when they teased a huge announcement was going to be made on the TODAY show, it took Blockheads about 5 minutes to figure it out. But if there is anyone worse at keeping a secret, it’s Paula Abdul. After finishing her set at the Mixtape Festival over the Summer, she quickly told the crowd “I’m going on tour with NKOTB & Boyz II Men next year bye!” Which left us with so many questions for Paula. When does it start? What venues? When do pre-sales start?
Luckily for us, that day has come! On the TODAY show this morning, NKOTB officially announced the “Total Package Tour” with Boyz II Men and Paula Abdul will kick off in May in Columbus, OH! Tickets go on sale to the public on Saturday, November 19th. Pre-sales for Blockhead members and Amex cardholders start TOMORROW, Wednesday, November 16th.

We had the chance to see O-Town in 2016 at Mixtape Festival and were blown away by how incredible they looked and sounded. Their set was SO MUCH FUN (who doesn’t love “Liquid Dreams”?), their outfits were on point (overalls + tie dye = yes), and the new material they played was excellent. We’re excited to hear they are working on their 4th studio album after wrapping up their Summer tour with 98 Degrees.
O-Town launched an official Kickstarter campaign for the album, the first album in the band’s history to be free of any label, funded fully by fans for fans! The campaign was a success – they met their goal in an incredible 7 hours! You can still support the album campaign and earn prizes like the overalls Trevor wore on the My2K Tour, the chance to be their tour manager for a day, or a private O-Town concert. In true NKOTB fashion, the guys just dropped some HUGE surpise news on us that got us really excited for summertime (as if we weren’t already!) Danny, Donnie, Jordan, Jonathan, and Joey announced that they’ll be headlining a very special show at the brand new Amphitheater at Coney Island Boardwalk this August just before Mixtape Festival. While they had insisted Mixtape would be their only show of the year, they couldn’t resist throwing a “warmup” gig in NYC a couple of days before. Of course we’re going to both shows!
Like any true Blockhead knows, Coney Island is a special place for NKOTB – it’s where they filmed their first music video for “Please Don’t Go Girl.” It’s also the home of Wahlburgers, with its rooftop overlooking the Wonder Wheel and the rest of the iconic beach park.
