Mixtape Festival, the ultimate fangirl fest, is returning to Hersheypark Stadium this June after a one year hiatus. We’re not “festival people,” but we will make an exception for Mixtape, which brings together the best in 90s pop for an unforgettable weekend. We went to the inaugural fest in 2012 and saw NKOTBSB, LL Cool J, and 98 Degrees’ first show post- reunion. Needless to say, it was AMAZING, and we’re thrilled that Mixtape Festival is back in 2015! Check out the lineup below – tickets go on sale Saturday, January 31st.
2015 Mixtape Festival Lineup
NKOTB
TLC
Nelly
Sugar Ray
Vanilla Ice
Salt-n-Pepa
Mixtape Festival is great because all of the artist play full sets, not abbreviated festival sets. There are usually fun activities to go along with the concert, like boyband vs. boyband dodgeball games and VIP afterparties. Visit MixtapeFestival.com for more info on tickets and VIP packages!
NKOTB don’t just have concerts, they throw massive block parties. In 2011, they joined forces with Backstreet Boys to create the supergroup NKOTBSB, AKA the greatest event that has ever occured in fangirl history. 2013 brought us The Package Tour, as NKOTB recruited Boyz II Men and 98 Degrees into their boyband posse, for yet another unforgettable tour.
This summer, NKOTB are bringing TLC and Nelly out on The Main Event Tour! It’s their first North American tour in two years, and features an all new, 360 in the round stage. And if you’ve ever seen the New Kids on tour, you know that they totally BRING IT each and every night on stage. We can’t wait to see what happens on tour, especially anything involving Donnie or Jordan. Welcome to the Block Party.
Pre-sales start this Thursday, January 22nd for Blockhead members, and the public on sales are January 31st. Visit NKOTB.com for more info.

‘Tis the season for boys in matching chunky turtlenecks and festive headwear! If you’re searching for the perfect Holiday music to add to your playlist (or any playlist), you can’t go wrong with some classic boyband songs.
1. 98 Degrees – “This Gift” Is it okay if we say this is our favorite 98 Degrees album? (Sorry, “Microphone.”)
2. *NSYNC – “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays” The most iconic Christmas music video of all time.
3. NKOTB – “Funky Funky Xmas”
They performed this on the Arsenio Hall Show in 1990, and Jordan decided his Christmas gift to you would be to take his shirt off mid-performance.
4. Big Time Rush – “Beautiful Christmas” Confession: we will listen to this song year round if it shuffles on our BTR playlist.
5. Backstreet Boys – “It’s Christmas Time Again” BSB somehow managed to avoid releasing a full Christmas album (although we would love that guys, get on it). They did release this single in in 2012.
We literally could not be more excited for the upcoming Backstreet Boys documentary! It’s in theaters January 30th, and is just the perfect pick-me-up during that dreaded post-Christmas, concert-less vortex known as January and February. Watch the official trailer below!
Make sure you practice your BSB choreography in the meantime, because if people aren’t dancing in the aisles in the theater we will be VERY disappointed.
Backstreet’s Back, alright? After teasing us with the trailer on tour for the last two summers, the Backstreet Boys movie finally has a release date! “Show ‘Em What You’re Made Of” will be released in theaters and video on demand January 30th, 2015! The documentary is a behind the scenes look at the best selling boyband of all time, who are celebrating a remarkable 21 years together this year. It was filmed over a two year period, including their worldwide “In A World Like This Tour.” So, you just might see yourself in the movie!
Watch the trailer below and start planning that BSB screening party with your fellow fangirls now. And brush up on your dance moves, because there better be dancing in the movie theater aisles.
The documentary will premiere later in 2015 on VH1 as part of VH1 Rock Docs.
It’s Black Friday, which means you no longer have to wonder if it’s socially acceptable to start listening to Christmas music. It’s on. When you’re tired of hearing Taylor Swift’s “Last Christmas” playing at Target/The Mall/Everywhere You Go, here are some of our favorite Christmas albums.
1. *NSYNC – “Home For Christmas”
Definitely the greatest boyband Christmas album of all time (We are still surprised Backstreet Boys never made one!) Of course, it also has the best Christmas music video of all time for “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays.”
2. Hilary Duff – “Santa Clause Lane” This video used to play on Disney Channel during every single commercial break. Can you still do the Lil’ Romeo rap? (We can.)
3. Music From “The O.C.” Mix 3: Have a Very Merry Chrismukkah” Two of the most important things on “The O.C.” were music and Seth Cohen’s favorite holiday, Chrismukkah. This soundtrack features original Holiday tracks from show favorites like Rooney, Jimmy Eat World, and The Raveonettes.
4. The Beach Boys – “The Beach Boys Christmas Album”
It’s hard to pick a favorite track off of this classic album, from their originals “Little Saint Nick” and “Merry Christmas, Baby” to their versions of Christmas standards. We’ve been hearing these songs literally every year since birth, but we still aren’t tired of them.
5. Justin Bieber – “Under The Mistletoe”
We all love his single “Mistletoe,” and of course his remake of “All I Want for Christmas” with Mariah. But our favorite is the beautiful acapella version of “Fa La La” featuring Boyz II Men.
NKOTB are experts at dropping vague hints for announcements on social media that send fans into a frenzy. This morning, it was simply the number 7. What could it mean?!? Luckily we didn’t have to wait too long to find out. (For once ‘soon’ actually meant soon.) NKOTB just announced their 7th cruise will take place October 8th-12th 2015! This time the cruise is departing from Miami, traveling to Grand Turk, Bahamas.
Pre-sales start on Thursday, November 20th for Block Nation members and past cruisers. The remaining cabins will go on sale to the public on Friday, November 21st.
We’ve never been on a band cruise before, but it looks like a blast. You’ll get to spend some quality time with your favorite boy band (you’ll literally be trapped at sea for 2 days with them), and the 4 day affair features concerts, non-stop parties, a beach day, and plenty of meet and greet and photo ops. Plus, we all know how amazing NKOTB are to their fans. Oh right, and on top of everything, you’ll get to go to the Bahamas.
If you want a preview of what a NKOTB cruise is like, be sure to tune into the TV Guide Network on Monday, November 24th to watch “Rock This Boat: NKOTB!”
Visit NKOTB’s Cruise Site for more info and start planning your cabin now! Can you say perfect Christmas present for your BFF?
One of our favorite Artists To Watch, LA-based boyband Phase V recently released their next single called “Never Gonna Give You Up”. Nope, you’re not getting Rick Rolled on this one, they did sample that now iconic song on the latest track!
After successfully reaching (and surpassing) their Indie Go-Go campaign goal, Phase V have been hard at work in the studio and on stage making sure their fans get the best live show and EP possible. We love Phase V because they are a legit boyband – synchronized dance movies, harmonies and all.
Listen to Phase V’s new single “Never Gonna Give You Up” below and help keep the boyband tradition alive!

Nick Carter and Jordan Knight brought their duet project, Nick & Knight, to the Best Buy Theater in New York City on Friday night and it was everything we could have imagined and more for two boy band members teaming up for an album and tour.
During the concert, Jordan kept picking on Nick for being a trooper and powering through the concert even though Nick had almost lost his voice and was having a hard time singing. That didn’t slow down his dance moves though, which he showcased in their terrific 90s medley mid-concert. We might be biased but the best part of the concert might have been that cover of Ginuwine’s “Pony” that had the audience screaming with delight – like it was 1996 all over again! Watch their 90s medley below, which on its own is worth the price of admission.
Nick and Jordan slowed things down a little when they broke out an acoustic guitar and keyboard to sing one of the most heartfelt songs on the album – “Halfway There.” Making sure to give their larger than life fans the right stuff, Nick and Jordan also covered their boy band hits “I Want It That Way” and “Step By Step.”
While we’re sad Jordan didn’t sing “Stingy” (Donnie was busy filming his TV show on Friday night), the sold out audience was treated to “Give It To You” and “Larger Than Life” featuring Nick Carter on the electric guitar.
Watch Nick & Knight sing “Paper” live below.
Catch Nick & Knight when they roll through your town. You won’t forget it! Check out the rest of the tour dates HERE.

We all know the 90s were the greatest musical era of all time, especially for pop music. We had Backstreet Boys, we had *NSYNC, we had Britney, we had 2ge+her, we had it all. So we were thrilled when we heard about a new musical opening in New York that is set in the 90s pop scene. “Pop Nation,” opening in November, “puts you behind the scenes as boy bands and bubblegum divas blast off on a whirlwind ride to the heights of pop royalty.”
The show is described as a “social theatrical experience,” mixing the feel of a musical with a nightclub. We’re not sure exactly what this means, but they had us at “90s boybands” and we’ll definitely be checking this one out. “Pop Nation” features original music by Damon Intrabartolo, choreography by RJ Durell, who has worked with Madonna and Britney, and production design by Kevin Antunes, JT’s go-to.
Previews for this new musical begin November 14th at the Hudson Hotel in New York City. Tickets are available now on the official “Pop Nation” website.
