Listen To “In The End” from Dead 7 Featuring *NSYNC, BSB, O-Town & 98 Degrees

We’ve been fangirling hard waiting for the premiere “Dead 7,” the zombie movie written by Nick Carter, starring members of *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, O-Town and 98 Degrees.  And it just got even better. Nick, Howie Dorough, and AJ McLean of Backstreet Boys; Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone of *NSYNC; Jeff Timmons of 98 Degrees; and Erik-Michael Estrada from O-Town joined forces to record a song for the soundtrack.

The movie premieres this Friday, April 1st at 8pm on SyFy, from the people who brought you “Sharknado.”  AKA this is already the best movie of 2016 and you better be tuned in on Friday night.  Listen to “In The End” from the movie below!

Download the track for free here!  We can only hope this is just the first time that these boybands will join forces!

Be sure to follow Secret Fangirls on Twitter for updates and live tweets from the movie!

The Friday Five: Zac Efron’s Greatest Roles

It’s a known fact that we will go see anything starring Zac Efron.   Plot?   Doesn’t matter.  His newest movie, “We Are Your Friends,” hits theaters next week.  Zac plays an aspiring DJ who just needs that 1 track to make it big time.  In honor of the new film, here’s a look at some of Zefron’s greatest roles.

1. “Summerland”
Zac’s first major role, alongside Jesse McCartney and Danielle Panabaker.  Seriously, what do we need to do to get this show on Netflix or Hulu?

2. “High School Musical”
One of the greatest musical numbers of all time.

3. “17 Again”
This movie has the 3 essential ingredients of a successful Zefron film: dancing, basketball, and (un)necessary shirtless scenes.

4. “Neighbors”
The only thing better than a Zefron movie is one that also stars Dave Franco!  Look out for the sequel next year.

5. “We Are Your Friends”
We love that Zac & the cast promoted the movie with screenings and after-parties across the country, giving the fangirls what they want.

Listen To Shawn Mendes’ New Track “Believe” From Disney’s “Descendants”

Pop’s new prince Shawn Mendes just released a special new song that he worked on for Disney’s “Descendants” movie, which premieres July 31st only on Disney Channel.  We can’t wait to watch the movie, which follows the children of some of your favorite classic Disney movie villains!  And naturally we’ll be listening for Shawn’s song, too.

Listen to the new track below!

The Friday Five: The Lonely Island

The Lonely Island just started production on their new movie, a mockumentary about a boyband reunion and parody of fluffy music documentaries, produced by Judd Apatow.  This sounds amazing, and we can’t help but hope that Samberg’s BFF Justin Timberlake will make an appearance along with some of his former bandmates!  After all, Lance and Joey are actors, too (see the 2001 masterpiece “On The Line.”).  And Justin is a respected actor and all now, but never forget where he got his acting start – “Model Behavior” playing a teen heartthrob.   From the superficial stars to the real ones.

Here are some of our favorite tracks by The Lonely Island (excluding the ones featuring JT because duh.)

1. “Throw It On The Ground”
This ain’t my Dad, this is a cell phone!

2. “YOLO” featuring Adam Levine & Kendrick Lamar
You Oughta Look Out!

3. “I’m On A Boat” featuring T-Pain
If you claim to not sing this every time you’re on/near a boat, you’re lying.

4. “Jack Sparrow” featuring Michael Bolton
We’d be okay with Michael Bolton making an appearance in the movie, too.

5. “The Creep” featuring Nicki Minaj
They’ve got the boyband dance moves nailed.

The Friday Five: 90s Teen Movies

We’re excited that The Duff is finally in theaters since it’s been a while since we’ve had a teen comedy in theaters – unlike the 90s when one seemed to open every week.  Here are some of our favorite 90s teen movies and their best musical moments.

1. Clueless
The greatest movie of all time, and one of the greatest soundtracks, with everyone from Coolio to Radiohead to the Mighty Mighty Bosstones.  The soundtrack is being reissued in April on vinyl for its 20th (!!!) anniversary.

2. Drive Me Crazy
Starring a pre-Entourage Adrian Grenier and a post-Sabrina Melissa Joan Hart, with a theme song by Britney Spears.

3. She’s All That
So many great musical moments, like Rachel Leigh Cook walking down the stairs to “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer.  But our favorite is the dance scene, where the entire school knows the choreography to “Funk Soul Brother” by Fatboy Slim.

4. Never Been Kissed
Michael Vartan = bae.  We can’t listen to the Beach Boys’ “Don’t Worry Baby” without thinking of this movie’s ending.

5. 10 Things I Hate About You
Everyone wanted to be serenaded by Heath Ledger.

The Friday Five: Concert Movies

The Friday Five: Adventures in Europe

It’s totally possible to have an adventure through Europe without even leaving your couch.  Here are some of our favorite movies that will take you to Rome, Paris & beyond.

1. The Lizzie McGuire Movie
Ah, Rome.  The Eternal City.  The land where they invented spaghetti. Whatever you want to call it, this movie is like taking a tour through the city.  And no trip to Rome is complete without running into an Italian pop star who wants you to pose as his singing parter who’s like totally your twin and perform at the IMVAs so you don’t loose your record deal, right?

2. Monte Carlo
Sure, it’s basically the same plot as The Lizzie McGuire Movie.  But this one takes place in Paris, and of course Monte Carlo.  And stars Selena Gomez, Katie Cassidy, Leighton Meester, and some really well cast male leads.  Beau-jo-lais, y’all.

3. The Cheetah Girls 2
Sometimes you gotta strut down those streets and let Barcelona know the Cheetahs have arrived.  The Cheetah Girls travel to Spain to compete in a talent show, almost get disqualified, meet some cute boys, and end up having a Cheetah-licious summer!

4. Chasing Liberty
Mandy Moore goes everywhere from Prague to Venice and back with Matthew Goode.  Sure she may be on the run from her secret service body guards, but a romantic gondola ride never hurt anybody!

5. What A Girl Wants
Amanda Bynes goes to London to find her father, Colin Firth and meets a cute British boy, who also happens to be a musician.  Believe it or not, no Christina Aguilera songs are in this movie, despite the title.  (Didn’t you just read the title to the tune of “What A Girl Wants?”  Us too.)

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays!

When we started this site a year ago, we had no idea what to expect.  What would we write about?  Would anyone even read it?  We managed to figure it out along the way, thanks to our fellow fangirls and the band boys we all love.

Thank you for reading, thank you for supporting us, and thank you for sharing our passion for music!  We’ve had the opportunity to do so many cool things this year, and have met lots of great people along the way.  We can’t wait for what 2015 has in store!

We’re off on a European adventure, but we’ll be back to posting in January 2015 (!)

And since you can never have enough *NSYNC, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays from the Secret Fangirls!
