SecretFangirls.com Interview We Are Stations

Local NYC pop-rock band We Are Stations sat down with us following their opening slot on the “Live Forever Tour” with William Beckett, Against The Current, and Paradise Fears at the Highline Ballroom in NYC.  We talked about everything from how they got their band name to which artists they’d love to collaborate with.  They also filled us in on their new single “Keep Your Head Up” and what’s coming up next for We Are Stations.   And you’ll never guess who  lead singer Steven is a (not-so) secret fan of.  Watch our interview below!

We Are Stations has a perfect 90s influenced sound, which we can’t get enough of.  Be sure to pick up a copy of “Keep Your Head Up” on iTunes now and check out We Are Stations on SoundCloud.  Stay tuned for upcoming We Are Stations shows – they are definitely an artist you need to know.

Sam Hunt To Release “Montevallo” On October 27th

Rising country star Sam Hunt is ready to take on the music world one hit song at a time.  His debut album, “Montevallo,” will be released on October 27th!  Growing up in Georgia, Hunt played football not knowing he could make a living writing songs.  Eventually he moved to Nashville and started writing for artists like Kenny Chesney and Keith Urban, before starting to create his own material.  Sam gained attention through social media, having his music available free to download. Now, he’s signed to his own record deal, and heading out on tour with Kip Moore this Fall.   Sam’s “X2C” EP, which came out this summer, made a Top 40 debut on the Billboard charts.   Check out the track listing for his debut album below.

Sam Hunt “Montevallo” Track Listing
1. “Take Your Time”
2. “Leave The Night On”
3. “House Party”
4. “Break Up In A Small Town”
5. “Single For The Summer”
6. “Ex To See”
7. “Make You Miss Me”
8. “Cop Car”
9. “Raised On It”
10. “Speakers”

You can pre-order “Montevallo” on iTunes now!  Also visit SamHunt.com for pre-order packages.  You can get a signed copy of the album, and even a cassette player!

If you downloaded Sam’s “Behind the Pines” mixtape (which was available for free on his website before he signed with MCA), you’ll recognize some of the tracks.  We love that the album versions are true to the originals – just a little more polished.

The Vamps “Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)” Video With Shawn Mendes

School may be back in session but The Vamps decided to extend summer  just a little bit longer with the release of the official video for their new single “Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)” featuring Vine superstar Shawn Mendes!

In the video, the guys are stuck on a deserted island and trying to get home.   It almost reminds us of that movie, Love Wrecked, starring Amanda Bynes, Aaron Samuels, and Luke from “The O.C.”  Well, minus the fangirl kidnapping, and with way more Tristan in a leopard toga.   Watch the video below!

You can pre-order The Vamps cover of “Oh Cecilia (Breaking My Heart)” on iTunes UK now.   You’ll also get The Vamps new song “Hurricane” when you buy the new single.   Fans in the US, don’t worry!  It’s not as horrible a day as you thought.  You can get “Hurricane” on the “Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day” soundtrack!

Nick Jonas Releases New Single “Jealous”

Nick Jonas has been keeping busy since the Jonas Brothers broke up.  He’s been in the studio writing new music for his solo launch – without The Administration this time!  In between fashion week shows in NYC, Nick J made a few press stops to promote his latest single, “Jealous.”

The song was inspired by Nick’s jealous feelings when other guys look at his girlfriend, a former beauty-queen.   Wonder if she ever gets jealous of all the fan girls looking at Nick?  Maybe he should post less revealing photos on Instagram…

You can download “Jealous” on iTunes or Amazon now.  In addition to the new music, Nick also announced a new tour this fall!  Receive early access to tickets when you pre-order the new album HERE.   Check out the dates below. (P.S Nick: no New Jersey or New York date?  Okay…)

Nick & Knight Celebrate Album Release at Highline Ballroom

Backstreet Boys’ resident heartthrob and newlywed Nick Carter and New Kids On The Block’s Jordan Knight had so much fun on the NKOTBSB tour they decided to team up and keep the party going.  Nick & Knight are teaming up for an album and tour this fall. The duo celebrated the release of their debut album with a party at Highline Ballroom in NYC.

Nick and Jordan performed quite a few  songs from the album including “Switch”, “Halfway There” (with Jordan on piano) and  “Deja Vu” which was co-written by Brandyn Burnette!  They also took questions from the fans, revealing more about their upcoming tour. (Trust us, it sounds amazing!)  Jonathan Knight came out to support his brother and even mingled with the crowd, taking selfies with everyone.  Nick brought out his own laptop and did double-duty, showing off his DJ skills during the release party.

Nick and Jordan even previewed some choreography they’ve been working on for the tour! Watch a live performance of “Switch” below! (The track, one of our favorites on the album, was co-written by Bruno Mars)

They said they will play solo material for the Nick & Knight tour later this fall and topped the evening off with Jordan performing “Give It To You.”  We are still fangirling over this, because this was our JAM in 1999, and we voted for it on “TRL” almost daily.

The Friday Five: Songs Of The Week

We’ve spent most of the last 2 weeks at the US Open, our favorite time of the year.  Here’s what we’ve been listening to this week!  We’ll be back to regular blogging next week after the finals.

1. Demi Lovato – “Really Don’t Care”
We think this is the US Open DJ’s favorite song, because we heard it at least five times a day.  Or maybe he’s just really excited about the Demi World Tour, which kicks off tomorrow?

2. MKTO – “Classic”
MKTO performed at Arthur Ashe Kids Day this year, getting the US Open off to a fun start with this classy jam.

3. Hunter Hayes – “Wildcard”
This should be the theme song for every player that gets a wild card into a tournament.   Would have been a perfect song for Hunter to perform at Arthur Ashe Kids Day!  But we were totally okay with hearing “Tattoo” twice.  Tickets are on sale now for the “Tattoo (Your Name) Tour!”

4. Nick & Knight – “Switch”
We got a little break from the tennis action on Wednesday when we headed to Nick & Knight’s album release show at the Highline.  The show was a preview of what to expect on their tour this fall, and trust us, you don’t want to miss it.  Their harmonies, choreography, and bromance are amazing.

5. NKOTB – “Single” & Backstreet Boys “The One”
Another US Open DJ favorite is “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay.  Which just brings back memories of the NKOTBSB tour opener mashup of NKOTB’s “Single” and Backstreet Boys’ “The One.”  So naturally we just start singing NKOTBSB anytime we hear it.

Chris Lane Releases “Broken Windshield View” Music Video

Country singer Chris Lane just released the music video for his new single “Broken Windshield View” on Youtube.  The song has been in rotation in the Fangirls office all summer long and the video, filmed in Greensboro, NC definitely shows that down south country life, spending hot summer days on the river and riding around with a broken windshield (probably from driving down all those dirt roads).  Check out the official video below!

Pick up a copy of “Broken Windshield View “on iTunes or Amazon.
