The Friday Five: Winter Storm Jonas (Brothers) Playlist

As we’re sure you’ve heard by now, Winter Storm Jonas is going on tour across the East Coast this weekend, with stops in D.C, Philadelphia, NYC, and Boston. We thought the storm might breakup before it hit New York, but it looks like this reunion tour is coming full speed ahead. Here’s the perfect playlist for your weekend.

1. “Games”
When you’re waiting for the snow to start falling, wondering if the meteorologists are just playin’ games with your heart.

2. “SOS”
When the snow actually starts and you panic realizing you never bought milk and loaf bread (even though you’re lactose intolerant and gluten free)

3. “Burnin’ Up”
When you’re trapped in your apartment with the radiator blasting, unable to open the window without letting in a foot of snow.

4. “Time For Me To Fly”
When you can finally go out and go sledding! Pro tip: you can get some serious air on the hills in Central Park.

5. “Hello Beautiful”
When you see that cute sledding bae.

BONUS: DNCE – “Cake By The Ocean”
What we all wish we were really doing this weekend.

DNCE Release Debut Track “Cake By The Ocean”

It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 2 years since the Jonas Brothers’ breakup.  Since  that tragic day in fangirl history, we’ve seen Nick J successfully launch a solo project with hit singles like “Chains” and “Jealous.”  But what about Joe?  While he’s proved that he’s very good at internet, he’s kept a lower profile since the bands demise (at least music wise).  We’ve been hoping for a comeback and are so excited that Joe is officially back, this time with his new band, DNCE!  He’s joined by ex-Jonas Brothers drummer Jack LawlessJinJoo Lee and Cole Whittle.

Their first single, “Cake By The Ocean,” premiered on Z100 last night.  It’s strange and catchy in the best way, and is nothing short of Joe’s ticket back to the top of the charts.  It’s so good in fact, that Z100 broke all the rules of radio and played it twice in a row.   Listen to the track below!

Listen to Nick Jonas’ New Single “Levels”

Nick J just released his new single, “Levels” and it’s off the chain. The upbeat track will make you want to dance along to Nick’s falsetto, “just walking up on the ceiling, dancing up on the wall.”  Nick will perform the song at the VMAs airing on MTV August 30th and release the music video the same day.   Listen to the track below and pickup a copy on iTunes now!

Nick Jonas To Perform Live On Periscope Tonight, 4/22!

Nick Jonas is teaming up with Hilton Hotels to perform live exclusively on Twitter’s new live streaming video app, Periscope, tonight at 9:15pm EST!  This marks the first time an entire live concert will be streamed on Periscope.  The show will be broadcast from the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas.

Fans are invited to have a virtual front row seat to this once in a lifetime concert by downloading the Periscope app and following @HiltonHHonors on Twitter.   You know when you can’t make it to a concert, and your best friend Facetimes you during your favorite song?  We imagine this is something like that.  Only you’ll be watching from the best seat in the house.  We’ll definitely be tuning in and here’s hoping for many more Periscope concerts in the future!

We’re still fangirling over Nick’s performance with Dan + Shay at the ACM Awards last weekend.  Watch what happened behind the scenes in rehearsal!

The Friday Five: Concert Movies

The Friday Five: Jonas Brothers Songs

We caught the last stop of Nick Jonas’ mini tour in Brooklyn last night, in support of his new self-titled album out November 11th.   We’d be lying if we said we were totally over the Jo Bros unexpected breakup last fall  – after all, we’ve seen them in concert more than any other artist combined.   We’ve been singing Nick’s praises since circa 2007, but it’s nice to see that finally all of his secret fans have come out in the open and realized what we’ve been saying all along.

Last night’s show was a definite departure from the Jonas Brothers’ style, so let’s take a look back at our favorite Jonas songs.  If you’re feeling nostalgic, we suggest breaking out your “Bonus Jonas” edition DVD.

1. “Goodnight and Goodbye”
This is the song that cemented our love, when we saw them open for J Mac back in the day.  We have a vivid memory of Nick ripping off his bowtie during this song, leading to immediately fangirling and possibly a sign of things to come.

2. “Pushin’ Me Away”
The concert movie intro of this song is one of our faves because of how into it Joe gets, pretending to direct the string section and then it stops and his vocals kick in.   True story: we also had our own dance moves to this song.

3. “Sorry”
We’re proud to say that we were in attendance of the one and ONLY time they ever performed this song.  We’re glad someone was functioning enough to get this on video because we were probably sing-screaming at the top of our lungs (considering they had just brought out Robert Schwartzman)

4. “I Am What I Am”
Sorry Taylor, but THIS is the ultimate anti-hater jam.  If you don’t like it get with somebody else.  We may or may not have lost it when they played this song in a medley in 2010.

5. “What Do I Mean To You”
One of the last songs that they ever released (if you count giving the last album to your fan club for free as “releasing an album”), “What Do I Mean To You” was a dark song spawned from a failed relationship.  The breakup had fans wondering what we meant to them, too.

Pre-order a copy of Nick Jonas’ new album on iTunes and Amazon now and get 6 songs instantly!
