Nick Jonas has been keeping busy since the Jonas Brothers broke up. He’s been in the studio writing new music for his solo launch – without The Administration this time! In between fashion week shows in NYC, Nick J made a few press stops to promote his latest single, “Jealous.”
The song was inspired by Nick’s jealous feelings when other guys look at his girlfriend, a former beauty-queen. Wonder if she ever gets jealous of all the fan girls looking at Nick? Maybe he should post less revealing photos on Instagram…
You can download “Jealous” on iTunes or Amazon now. In addition to the new music, Nick also announced a new tour this fall! Receive early access to tickets when you pre-order the new album HERE. Check out the dates below. (P.S Nick: no New Jersey or New York date? Okay…)

Sometimes, there is just nothing like a good breakup song, no matter what you’re going through. They can help vent your anger, remind you to stay positive. Here are some of our favorite breakup songs.
1. Brandyn Burnette – “Thanks For Nothing”
Brandyn Burnette’s new single “Thanks For Nothing” shows one way to deal with a breakup. Be positive! That is, be positive that the person you just broke up with is, in Lauren Conrad’s words – “a sucky person!”
2. Hunter Hayes – “More Than I Should”
Hunter is so sweet that makes us wonder who broke his heart so badly that he penned one of the angriest breakup songs we’ve ever heard. You can feel the anger in this song from the first note to the end. The guitars come in, guns blazing, while Hunter sings “I found out the hard way, I loved you more than I should”. We always find ourselves feeling better after listening to this track!
3. Tiffany Houghton – “The Best”
Fresh music from Tiffany Houghton, this break up song is one of our new favorites. We can’t get over how upbeat and happy the music is while Tiffany sings about the jerk who broke her heart. Bless his heart, she’s just wishing him the best. HA!
4. Taylor Swift – “Picture To Burn”
Oldie but a goodie from the queen of writing the songs that are the soundtrack to our young lives. Taylor Swift knows how sucky guys can be, but as far as she’s concerned, they’re all just another picture to burn! Does anyone else miss Taylor’s country days?
5. Jonas Brothers – “What Do I Mean To You”
When we first heard this song last summer on tour, we had no idea that it would be the last time we’d ever see the brothers together as a band, playing music on tour and stuff. The chorus just punches you right in the gut – like when he said those fateful four words “we need to talk”. By the way – Kevin/Joe/Nick, WHAT DO WE MEAN TO YOU!!?
Bonus: 78 Violet (Aly & AJ) – “Potential Breakup Song” & Jonas Brothers “Move On”
You can’t talk about breakup songs without mentioning this iconic song by Aly & AJ and it’s companion song, “Move On” by Jonas Brothers. “Move On” was never recorded, and only performed once, at Bamboozle. But we’re sure it felt good for Joe to get that off of his chest! They both sure seem to have issues with their stuff. We hope you got your stuff back.
We’d be totally lying if we said we weren’t still confused by the Jonas Brothers breakup, but we have moved on to the “acceptance” phase of this traumatic event. We hoped that Nick and Joe would at least still work on their solo music post-breakup. Nick Jonas & The Administration is one of our favorite under-appreciated albums of all time (if you’re commanding Prince’s band at the age of 17…nothing but respect). And as great as “Love Slayer” was, we’re still hoping to hear some of the “weird music he wrote with Robert Schwartzman” that Joe mentioned in his NY Magazine tell-all.
We’re thrilled that Nick Jonas has signed to Island Records and released his first post-breakup single as a solo artist! Nick J really is off the chain in this new single. Listen to the track, “Chains,” below!
It’s definitely a departure from his work with the Administration, but it sounds a lot like the Jonas Brothers tracks we heard off of their unreleased album, “V,” on tour last summer. By the way, we love how Nick just dropped his single. No months of hype, no constant tweeting of the word “soon.” Just music.
There is nothing better than seeing your favorite artist on tour. Except when two or more of your favorites team up – then it’s pretty much guaranteed to fall into the best concert EVER category. Or as NKOTBSB billed it: One Night. One Stage. Once in a Lifetime. (or in our case, 3 times.) Here are some of our favorite tour lineups!
1. NKOTBSB (New Kids on the Block & Backstreet Boys)
Basically the greatest tour of all time. Sure anything with these two acts would be amazing. But the way the show was arranged, with alternate medleys of songs from each group, kept the audience thrilled from start to finish. And they played every song you’d ever want to hear – just giving the fans what they want. If you’ve never seen Backstreet Boys perform “Everybody” live, you’re missing out! The choreography, set list, stage, everything about this tour was amazing. It took everyone back in time , be it 1989 or 1999.
2. The Best of Both Worlds Tour (Jonas Brothers, Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus) It’s been years and we still aren’t sure how we managed to snag tickets to this one (as we say in our Fangirl Handbook, we refuse to buy resale tickets!) But we were there, on the floor, and it was even 10 times more awesome than it looked in the 3D movie. We’d seen Jonas Brothers a couple of times before, but this tour was when they really hit their stride and exploded. And this tour was truly a once in a lifetime event. Especially now that Hannah Montana is dead.
3. The Package Tour (New Kids on the Block, 98 Degrees & Boyz II Men) We love NKOTB and their boy band posse. They recruited newly reunited 98 degrees and Boyz II Men for the appropriately titled “Package Tour.” Once again, NKOTB nailed the set, stage, choreography, etc. They’re older now, as are their fans, so they’re at a point when everyone can just relax, have fun and have the time of their lives. It’s a beautiful thing. We’re so glad NKOTB reunited and are better than ever!
4. Summer Break Tour (Big Time Rush, Victoria Justice, Jackson Guthy & Olivia Somerlyn) The perfect name for the perfect summer tour. We’re huge Victoria and BTR fans so we were thrilled to see them team up! Openers Jackson Guthy and Olivia Somerlyn were fun opening acts who had us singing and dancing along by the third go round. BTR doesn’t get enough credit for being a legit boy band, and for bringing back the genre. We’re convinced NKOTBSB and all these amazing things wouldn’t have happened without BTR. These guys are talented singers and dancers and totally bring it each night. It doesn’t hurt that they share a choreographer with NKOTB – boy band master Kevin Maher. Now if the New Kids could just recruit Big Time Rush for their boy band posse…
5. Matchbox Twenty & Goo Goo Dolls We’re 90s fan girls so when we heard Matchbox Twenty and Goo Goo Dolls, two of our favorite bands ever, would be touring together we HAD to go. Mostly because if you had told us 15 years ago we would have the chance to go and didn’t, we would have been very upset with ourselves. Luckily we decided to go and it was more than worth it. Both acts played very solid sets including all of their old material. It was just as great in 2013 as it would have been in 1996. If you are/were a fan of either group, we highly suggest seeing them live at least once.
Olivia Somerlyn just released her newest single, “Parachute”, co-written by none other than Nick Jonas (he also co-produced it)! This song will definitely get her noticed in the iHeart Radio and Macy’s Rising Star contest this year. Voting begins today and the winner gets to play the iHeartRadio Festival! Click HERE to vote for Olivia.
We love Olivia’s path from Jonas Brothers fangirl to the present. She is the ultimate secret fangirl and she is definitely living the dream! We caught her last year opening for Big Time Rush and Victoria Justice on the Summer Break Tour. Olivia has tons of energy onstage, and gets everyone in the crowd off their feet and dancing along.
The lineup for one of our favorite summer traditions, the “Today” Show Toyota Concert series was revealed today! The schedule includes SecretFangirls.com favorites Austin Mahone, Ed Sheeran and Pharrell.
We’ve seen many great “Today” Show concerts over the years: Big Time Rush, Hilary Duff, Hunter Hayes, Jonas Brothers, New Kids on the Block, Boyz II Men, 98 Degrees, and more. It’s totally possible to squeeze in a quick concert before work/school/etc. Our philosophy? Are you going to look back and think “gee, I’m so glad I was well rested for work that random Summer Friday!” Or “hey, remember that time James from BTR signed my coffee cup at 6am?”
Fangirl Tip! Sign up for the Today Show Concert Series newsletter – a few days before each concert, they will send out an email asking if you are interested in a Fan Pass. The Fan Pass is awesome and allows you priority access and to be closest to the stage, without having to wait as long in line. (You’ll still need to be there before 6AM!)

Just not in the way that you might hope. Joe and Kevin Jonas announced today that they will be going on an “Off The Record” tour, which they have described as a “live, interactive show” that will allow them to interact with fans as never before. It sounds a lot like “Storytellers,” just minus the whole music part.
The show will include a Q&A session, never-before-seen videos, and “many other surprises.” If by “surprises” they mean Nick showing up and Jonas Brothers performing “Goodnight & Goodbye,” then we are totally there! But unfortunately Nick will be sitting this one out.
After reading Joe’s tell all in New York Magazine, we can’t wait to see what kind of questions fans will be asking, and hope that Joe will be just as open. (Attention fangirls: this might be called “Off the Record” but be sure to take some videos!)
We had no idea when we saw Jonas Brothers last summer it would be our last Jonas show ever! While we’re disappointed we won’t be seeing a musical reunion, it’s nice to see the brothers make an effort to re-connect with their fans, many of whom were shocked by their sudden split in October 2013.
Tickets go on sale this Friday, May 2nd at 10am.

It seems like the term “boy band” is being very loosely thrown around these days. Just because a group of young, good-looking men are in a band together, this does NOT make them a boy band. If you go by this rule, then we’d have to call The Strokes and Vampire Weekend boy bands. I think we can universally agree that they are not.
So, what exactly is a “boy band” then? Let’s consult the dictionary!
Boy band (noun): a group of young men who perform popular songs together and dance as a group.
Now compare this to the definition of a band:
Band (noun): a group of musicians who play music together.
See the difference? The biggest being that boy bands DANCE. We’d also add that they tend to dress in matching/similar outfits, and are known for their harmonies.
Just because a group of young, cute guys are in a band, and in many cases being marketed to younger audiences, it does NOT mean they are a boy band. Now, here are some examples.
If you watched JONAS on Disney (religiously like we did) then you’ll recognize Macy Misa on Ravenswood and have fond memories of her not so secret fangirling. Particularly in the episode “Love Sick”. Macy goes on a date to a basketball game with a boy (Randolph) only to make him wear a curly wig (that she insisted was a hat), even making him dress like her celebrity crush/classmate – Nick Lucas (Nick Jonas).
— Macy Misa’s “Book Of Nick” that she gave to Randolph
Season 1 of JONAS was absolute GOLD and it’s a shame that they changed the writing and setting for season 2. The humor of season 1 captured the brothers so perfectly and was really a slight exaggeration of them in real life.
Nick says “I don’t come to these games is because I never meet anyone like myself” and then this happens.
Watch the episode online and remind yourself….if Macy Misa can eventually date her celebrity crush, so can you!
Macy Misa is the definition of “fangirl” and the textbook example of pretty much how NOT to act around your favorite celebs. Somehow her character went on to date Nick which only gives us that much more hope!
Bitter sweet news today for fans of The Wanted as the band announces a new music video for “Glow In The Dark” and that the band will be taking a break after the Word Of Mouth tour(at least they told us they’re taking a break and are still going forward with the tour – Jonas…we’re looking at you).
