Carly Rae Jepsen Premieres “I Really Like You”

Canadian pop star Carly Rae Jepsen just released her brand new single “I Really Like You.” Back in the spotlight for the first time since her viral lip-sync video inspiring hit “Call Me Maybe,” the new single showcases her talent for writing a super catchy song that is sure to be stuck in your head for days.   We really like the 80s pop vibes of this track. Carly has a knack for singing just what everyone wants to say to their crush.  We can’t wait for the music video for this song!  In the meantime, if Big Time Rush, Selena Gomez, Ashley Tisdale and Justin Bieber want to get the crew back together and make their own video, we’d be cool with that..

The Friday Five: 90s Teen Movies

We’re excited that The Duff is finally in theaters since it’s been a while since we’ve had a teen comedy in theaters – unlike the 90s when one seemed to open every week.  Here are some of our favorite 90s teen movies and their best musical moments.

1. Clueless
The greatest movie of all time, and one of the greatest soundtracks, with everyone from Coolio to Radiohead to the Mighty Mighty Bosstones.  The soundtrack is being reissued in April on vinyl for its 20th (!!!) anniversary.

2. Drive Me Crazy
Starring a pre-Entourage Adrian Grenier and a post-Sabrina Melissa Joan Hart, with a theme song by Britney Spears.

3. She’s All That
So many great musical moments, like Rachel Leigh Cook walking down the stairs to “Kiss Me” by Sixpence None the Richer.  But our favorite is the dance scene, where the entire school knows the choreography to “Funk Soul Brother” by Fatboy Slim.

4. Never Been Kissed
Michael Vartan = bae.  We can’t listen to the Beach Boys’ “Don’t Worry Baby” without thinking of this movie’s ending.

5. 10 Things I Hate About You
Everyone wanted to be serenaded by Heath Ledger.

Listen to We Are Stations’ Latest Track, “Vagabond”

We Are Stations just premiered a brand new song on their Soundcloud called “Vagabond.”  The new track has the same modern/90s alt-rock sound we’ve come to love from We Are Stations, and totally gives us a nostalgic heart for the glory days of rock music.

Jackson Harris Releases “Fight No More”

Jackson Harris just released his brand new single “Fight No More” and it’s a perfect make-up song.  If your musical sweet tooth is aching, this is the song is for you.  It’s pure sugar pop with no bite in sight, laced with charming guitars and a catchy chorus, you’ll be dancing and singing along before the song even hits the second verse.

The Friday Five: Country Artists To Watch in 2015

1. Cam – “My Mistake”
We’ve never had as much fun watching an unfamiliar opening act as we did during Cam’s set on the Where It All Began Tour with Dan + Shay.  She just launched her first single, “My Mistake,” and we’re sure we’ll be catching her on a headlining tour very soon.

2. Canaan Smith – “Love You Like That”
Canaan scored opening spots on some of the hottest tours this year, including Dierks Bentley’s Sounds of Summer Tour. His self-titled debut EP will be released in March, just in time to learn all the words before seeing him on tour!

3. Chris Lane – “Broken Windshield View”
Chris has played shows with some of the biggest names in country, making a name for himself on the road in the process.  He’s currently working on an EP following the release of his single “Broken Windshield View.”

4. Michael Ray – “Kiss You In The Morning”
2015 is shaping up to be Michael Ray’s year – his first single “Kiss You In The Morning” was the highest debuting single on the Country Airplay chart when it was released.  You can also see him on the Lipstick Graffiti Tour with possibly the hottest country singer of the moment, Sam Hunt, this Spring.

5. Jackie Lee – “She Does”
With his raspy southern drawl and electric guitar in hand, Jackie Lee is ready to make you fall in love with him.  Like he sings in his debut single, “She Does,” he may not like the same things you do, but he’s willing to love them for you.  Jackie is currently working on his debut album and landed the Nashville Lifestyles’ 2015 Most Eligible Singles cover.
