Album Preview: Bearings – “Blue In The Dark”

Ottowa based pop punk band Bearings have had an incredible year and they’re getting ready to skyrocket their blend of bouncey emo rock into the stratosphere with their eagerly awaited debut full-length album Blue In The Dark due out October 12th on Pure Noise Records.  Since releasing the “Nothing Here Is Permanent” EP in September 2017, the quartet have quickly become one of the most buzzworthy bands in the underground pop punk scene.

Bearings’ debut album will hook you from the first song and have you singing along the entire time.  In an era where too many bands have resorted to a shorter record format with too much filler, Bearings are bringing back the “all killer, no filler” approach.

Each song on Blue In The Dark propels the record ahead and lyrically tugs on your heartstrings.  “Beautiful Places” tackles the feeling of not being enough, whatever that means to you, while “Stuck In A Doorframe” chugs along from the first note and is easily one of our favorites on the record.  Other stand out tracks on the records include the 90’s Alt Rock infused “Careless Clarity,” the dreamy, steel string acoustic “Tide,” and blissfully happy “Eyes Closed.”

Watch the brand new video for “Aforementioned” below.

Hot Mulligan Drop “How Do You Know It’s Not Armadillo Shells?” Video

Hot Mulligan’s new video for “How Do You Know It’s Not Armadillo Shells?” is a perfectly numbing mix of the bands trademark easy core rock and their visuals that always hit extremely close to home.  The new track is the third song the band has released off their highly anticipated album “Pilot” dropping March 23rd through No Sleep Records.

When asked about the new single, singer Tades Sanville said “This song is about feeling bad at parties and social stuff, so we wanted to make a video that indicates just because nothing is wrong on the surface doesn’t mean there’s not something wrong in your head. Things can go from 0 to 100 really fast with no good reason.”

Watch the video for “How Do You Know It’s Not Armadillo Shells?” below.

Be sure to preorder your copy of “Pilot” on iTunes or Amazon now.

Couldn’t be prouder to announce that my new album “Silver Lining” comes out March 9. My biggest album yet. 14 new songs, and I wrote and produced almost every one of them. This album is about letting go of past experiences and bad energy and focusing on the road ahead. Understanding that something positive always comes out of something negative. I hope you love this album as much as I do. Pre-order starts tonight at midnight on iTunes, and when you pre-order you’ll automatically get a brand new song called “The Girl That’s Underneath”! If you’re reading this, thank you for sticking with me since 2011. Special thanks to everyone involved in making this album with me and @visualsofjulius for creating my favorite album artwork of all time.
