The Friday Five: Snapchat

Snapchat is one of those things that went from us not understanding why people used it to OMG we have to check it 10 times a day.  This is 1000% thanks to some of our favorite artists, who always post fun stories we don’t want to miss.  We love Brett Eldredge’s “Bedhead Jams,” and MAX’s multiple personalities.   And while he’s not a musician, Spencer Pratt’s snapchat game is on POINT.  His weekly reviews of tabloids are a must see. Snapchat is a strange world in and of itself but once you get the hang of it and start following the right people, it’s down right fun!  Here are some of our favorites.

Tennis Tuesday: Miami Open

We’re about halfway through the Miami Open, the last hardcourt tournament before the tour heads to the clay season.   It’s been quite an interesting tournament already (who said March Madness was just for basketball?!).  So far we’ve seen quite a few seeded players fall:  Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal, David Ferrer, Stan Wawrinka, John Isner, Andy Murray & more are all already out of the tournament before the 4th round.

This Week’s Tournament:
Miami Open – Miami, FL USA

4th Round Matches to Watch
Men’s fourth round action takes place today.  We’re looking forward to watch Dominic Thiem, who has had an outstanding 2016 so far, take on Novak Djokovic.  Grigor Dimitrov had his biggest win of the year so far, taking out Andy Murray in 3 sets.  He takes on Gael Monfils in what is guaranteed to be an entertaining match!

Tennis + Puppies = Love
Two of our favorite things collided this weekend, when Manny the Frenchie took over the Miami Open and hung out with some of our favorite tennis players for the day.

We The Kings’ “From Here To Mars” Tour Lands At Gramercy Theatre in NYC

We The Kings’ “From Here To Mars” Tour landed at Gramercy Theatre in NYC last night in front of a sold out crowd.  It was a show that left us wondering how we had never seen WTK live before – it was our first and most definitely not last time we’ll be seeing them on tour!  (Hint: WTK are playing the Vans Warped Tour all Summer long!) The band put on a high energy set, including material from all of their albums.  They set the tone for the night from the first song, “Skyway Avenue,” from their 2007 debut.

P1500996

Early in the set lead singer Travis Clark referred to the audience as “not fans, not friends, but family.”  It was a perfect way to describe the atmosphere at the show.  It was one of the loudest crowds we’ve ever heard and we loved hearing everyone sing along all night long.

P1500677

Travis taught the crowd some dance moves before going into “I Feel Alive.”  He wanted the last thought everyone had before going to bed after the show to be “did we really just do that?”   The Gramercy crowd gets an A+ for fully committing to the moves.

WTK ended the night with their biggest hit, “Check Yes Juliet.”  The crowd sang along so loudly and passionately that it was one of those moments at a show where you realize just how much the music and the band means to the fans.

Opening act AJR got the crowd pumped with their energetic set.  They premiered a new song, “I’m Not Famous,” which they impressively wrote and recorded just a week ago before heading out on tour.  And the track is already out on iTunes now!  “Let The Games Begin” turned the crowd into one big, bouncing dance party.  It was just as awesome live as we hoped it would be!   We love seeing AJR perform because of how much fun they are having on stage – it’s impossible not to join in.

AJR Drop New Single “I’m Not Famous”

AJR just dropped their latest single, “I’m Not Famous.”  The fun track is extremely catchy with some unique lyrics about the perks of not being famous.  Haters?  Paparazzi?  Don’t got em!  It’s a refreshing change from today’s insta-famous obsessed society.

Brothers Adam, Jack and Ryan are on the “From Here To Mars” Tour with We The Kings now.  Check out the tour dates here!  Listen to “I’m Not Famous” below!  You better be singing along at your show.

Today in daily reminders that you are old: “Hannah Montana” turned 10 yesterday.  The show premiered in March 2006, following an airing of “High School Musical.”  Sigh, those were the days.  Miley might have killed Hannah (R.I.P.), but thankfully, her music will live on forever.  And remember, life’s what you make it so let’s make it ROCK!

  1. “Rockstar”

2. “We Got The Party” ft. Jonas Brothers

3. “Nobody’s Perfect”

4. “I Got Nerve”

5. “Best Of Both Worlds”

We are all fangirls at heart.
