Snapchat is one of those things that went from us not understanding why people used it to OMG we have to check it 10 times a day. This is 1000% thanks to some of our favorite artists, who always post fun stories we don’t want to miss. We love Brett Eldredge’s “Bedhead Jams,” and MAX’s multiple personalities. And while he’s not a musician, Spencer Pratt’s snapchat game is on POINT. His weekly reviews of tabloids are a must see. Snapchat is a strange world in and of itself but once you get the hang of it and start following the right people, it’s down right fun! Here are some of our favorites.
1. Brett Elderidge (brettelderidge)
2. Spencer Pratt (prattspencer)
3. MAX (maxgschneider)
4. Thomas Rhett (thomasrhett)
5. Jake Miller (jmillermusic)
Let’s be real. The best thing about the internet is when people share photos and videos of their pets. We love that having an insta-famous dog is now an actual profession. Here are some of our favorite dogs to follow on social media!
1. Daily Dougie – @dailydougie
Dougie is SO CUTE! And good at internet. We had a really hard time deciding what to post for him, just do yourself a favor and go through his entire Instagram feed.
2. Marnie The Dog – @marniethedog
Marnie goes to more concerts than we do (and that’s saying a lot!) She has lots of famous friends and even had a book come out last year!
3. Hamilton Pug – @hamiltonpug
Hamilton hangs out with all of the cool internet dogs. Talk about #squadgoals
4. Itty Bitty the Griff – @ittystagram
Itty is ready for any Holiday.
5. Gary Fisher – @garyfisher
His mom, Carrie Fisher, brings Gary everywhere.
It’s always interesting to see how an artist goes viral these days. Our latest artist to watch, Chris Janson, shot to the top of the charts after his single “Buy Me A Boat” was played on the Bobby Bones Show. He spun this track to rave reviews (twice in an hour once which on radio is almost unheard of) and soon enough the track climbed the iTunes charts, kicking Sam Hunt and Little Big Town out of the top spots on the country chart, while also reaching #7 on the overall chart. Pretty impressive for any artist, let alone an unsigned one! Head to Rolling Stone for more of Chris’ remarkable story.
Of course, social media played a part as well, as more and more people shared the track on Twitter. We have to thank Dan Smyers (of Dan+Shay) for introducing us to this one. And we’ve had it on repeat ever since! Take a listen below, and you’ll see what we mean.
The song’s popularity hasn’t gone unnoticed by the industry. Last week, CMT announced plans to produce a music video for the song, a first in the network’s history. We wouldn’t be surprised to see it shoot to #1 on the CMT Hot 20 Countdown, too! And Chris Janson is an independent artist no longer – he just inked a deal with Warner Nashville, and shared this perfect photo to make the announcement.
Grab a copy of “Buy Me A Boat” on iTunes or Amazon now and hear what all the fuss is about!
