Riff Wood brought the rock and roll to NYC’s iconic Irving Plaza this week!

Carson Groves, Hyrum Russon, and Shredder Winegar have amassed an impressive 3.6 million streams on on their breakout hit, “Blur,” sold our a UK headline tour, won Utah Battle of the Bands as 9th graders, released a debut album “Tough Luck,” and headlined historic venues across the US all before they’ve turned 18 years old.

Oh, and they’re releasing their sophomore album, “Butterfly in Black And White,” produced by legendary 3X GRAMMY-winning producer Rob Cavallo (Green Day, MCR, Paramore, and more) on September 18th. 

LA based band, Willowake opened the show with their mid 90s indie rock sound and kept fans bouncing along with new and old songs alike. The band has evolved from backyard house parties to sold-out shows at Teragram Ballroom and The Echo while maintaining their South Bay scene ethos. 

Riff Wood brought their undeniable energy to headline NYC’s Irving Plaza on Thursday night and had everyone singing along to every word all night long!  Kicking off the set with a new song off their upcoming album, the crowd was dancing along to a song about an existential crisis.

Still teenagers, Riff Wood have the talent and emotional depth of artists twice their age which is impressive when you realize they barely have their learner’s permits. 

At one point, the guys pulled a lucky fan up on stage to sing with them! 

The guys caught the ear of legendary producer Rob Cavallo who slid into their DMs in awe of their prowess. As massive Green Day fans, the band totally freaked out in the best way possible!  Having their favorite producer working with them on a sophomore album is a dream come true and a full circle moment for the band who started out covering Green Day songs.
