America’s Boy Band, Midnight Red, got everyone’s Monday off to a good start with their energetic performance on Good Morning America! They performed their hit single “Hell Yeah,” which has been stuck in our heads since we saw them last week! (And we’re totally okay with that!) We love that they are a true boy band, choreographed dance moves and all. They’re even endorsed by NKOTBSB!
Watch their performance below and pickup a copy of their EP on iTunes!
Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs are tonight at Madison Square Garden! While tennis is generally the only sport we watch (it is the ultimate fangirl sport), we have been known to tune into a hockey game now and then. Especially when our home team, the New York Rangers, is playing a must-win game against the Los Angeles Kings. As casual hockey viewers, we like to break things down into terms we can understand. And as 90s fangirls, this means “The Mighty Ducks” trilogy. Especially now we hear that there are talks of making a Mighty Ducks 4! (Check out this amazing Oral History of “The Mighty Ducks” Trilogy on Time.com!)
Unfortunately, none of the players are as adorable as Team Captain Charlie Conway or Adam Banks, AKA the original Bansky. And you generally won’t see many closeups of Coach Gordon Bombay, stressed out and cheering the team on from the bench. You also won’t be seeing Julie the Cat Gaffney or Connie on either team – men only in the pros! Most goalies, like Goldberg, will fall down. A lot. Don’t be afraid to sub in a new goalie – it just might win you the tournament!
We have some advice for the Rangers: Try a flying V! It works every time. And if you’re in trouble, you can always call in Randy, AKA Kenan Thompson, to hit one of his infamous knuckle pucks!
Just whatever you do, don’t mess with Iceland, they play dirty. (The Kings even have a player with the last name Stoll – look out for him) Learn from the Bash brothers – it may seem like a great idea to knock out anyone that gets in your way, but that will land you time in the penalty box.
And Remember: Ducks Fly Together!
Maybe a little “We Will Quack You” will pump up the team?
Watch the Stanley Cup playoffs between the New York Rangers & the Los Angeles Kings tonight on NBC at 8pm EST! Or you can just rewatch The Mighty Ducks trilogy on Netflix.
It’s official! The second single off of Hunter Hayes’ new album “Storyline” is “Tattoo!” Hunter performed the song on the CMT Awards this week. This is one of our favorite tracks off the album, and is sure to be one of the biggest songs of the summer!
As if we weren’t excited enough about one Hunter performance at the CMT Awards, he also teamed up with John Legend and Jennifer Nettles for a special arrangement of “All of Me,” done by the man himself. We’d be totally okay if Hunter arranged more songs on the radio. And we love how into the performance he is, as always! Watch Hunter’s rehearsal session for the performance below.
Summer Fridays are in full swing, and we can’t wait for the weekend! Here’s what we’re listening to this week.
1. Austin Mahone – “Secret”
We’ve decided this is the official SecretFangirls.com theme song. We lost it when Austin performed this at Summer Jam last weekend, and are so glad someone caught it on video, because his choreography is ON POINT (as always). We don’t call him the one man boy band for nothing.
2. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – “And We Danced”
We saw Macklemore & Ryan Lewis at the Hammerstein Ballroom over two weeks ago. And we danced, and we laughed, and we cried, and had a really really really good time. And it was such a party that we are still finding random pieces of confetti everywhere.
3. Justin Timberlake – “Not a Bad Thing”
While we’ve always said this song would sound amazing as a 5-part harmony (ahem *NSYNC you can cover this on your reunion tour), it’s just as beautiful with JT.
4. Midnight Red – “Hell Yeah”
Okay, so we had this song on last week’s Friday Five. But we’ve seen Midnight Red twice this week, so this song has been permanently stuck in our heads (and we’re totally okay with it).
5. Victoria Justice – “Gold”
We know that Victoria is focusing on her acting projects now, but we miss her music! We especially love this single, “Gold,” and are hoping that we will still get a full album sometime soon!
We’ve been loving the resurgence of all things 90s, and Ohio-based pop rock band New Hollow clearly got the memo! These guys are bulldozing their way into the hearts of America with their grunge rock throwback sound.
We caught New Hollow’s set at the 106.1 BLI Summer Jam last weekend at Jones Beach and they won us over immediately with their cover of “Rebel, Rebel”. Their single, “She Ain’t You” harkens back to the alt-rock grunge days. They had us singing along by the end of the song and we’ve caught ourselves on more than one occasion humming it around the Secret Fangirls office! Hopefully they’ll come back and play in New York soon.
The band, made up of high school friends Evan West (19), Mookie Clouse (19), and Chad Blashford (18), recently signed with Epic Records – home to Karmin, Fifth Harmony, and The Fray!
New Hollow have been in the studio writing with Blues Traveler – how cool is that!? We can’t wait for their album to come out!
Watch the official video for New Hollow’s “She Ain’t You” below!

Here’s a little bit of old school for you and it goes a little something like this: HIT IT! Aaron Carter is going on tour!
Aaron Carter just announced he is embarking on a major world tour this fall, and has a new album on the way! Yes we still know all of the words to “Aaron’s Party (Come Get It)” and “That’s How I Beat Shaq.” And sing them, often. (who doesn’t?) Odds are he will be coming to your town, with over 50 dates on the schedule so far and more to come. We’re exhausted just typing them out! And he’ll be making a stop at New York’s Gramercy Theater in November! Don’t miss your chance to see him! We hear he plays all of your old favorites, and we’re looking forward to some new Aaron jams as well.
Tickets go on sale this Saturday, June 7th! Visit AaronCarterOnTour.com for all the details! Aaron will be having VIP meet & greet packages as always!

Before they join Demi Lovato’s World Tour this fall, breakout group MKTO are heading out on a North American tour this summer! Former “As The Bell Rings” cast member, Tony Oller, and former “Lost” cast member Malcolm D. Kelley, came together to form the duo. We caught MKTO at 106.1 BLI’s Summer Jam 2014 this year and they know how to get a crowd on it’s feet. These guys really connect with their fans and had Jones Beach rocking as the sun went down!
Want to meet MKTO on tour? Check out VIP Nation for more info! Tickets for all dates are on sale now.
