Bay Area surf – punk rockers SWMRS announced a Spring headlining tour around the United States featuring The Frights! This marks the bands first headlining tour ever and they’re going to be bringing their bubblegum infused punk rock debut album “Drive North” to a city near you. Tickets are on sale now so get them before the shows sell out! Check out the dates below.
“Drive North”, due out February 12th, features the band’s breakout single “Figuring It Out” that’s captured the ears of music fans looking for that authentic throwback sound. The early 2000’s are alive and well because New York alt rock group Brand New and Washington based rock group Modest Mouse just announced a co-headlining tour! The tour will see both bands closing the show, alternating every few nights with no openers leaving both bands plenty of time for full sets each.
This tour announcement comes amidst heavy rumors that Jesse Lacey and the rest of Brand New are working on a new album (not just officially releasing some leaked demos and tracks here and there as well as returning people’s dollar bills from 2006 in exchange for a lyric booklet.)
Modest Mouse have been hard at work since the smash hit “Float On”. They released their 8th album, “Strangers To Ourselves” in 2015 and have promised to release what could be a part two very soon.
Check out the tour dates below. Pre-sales are happening now and general on sales are Friday January 29th . Check with your venue for on-sale times.

We could all use a little warming up right now, as we’ve been dreaming about being on the beach while we’re piled under a mountain of snow. How about being on the beach with the New Kids on the Block? Sounds like a perfect fangirl getaway to us! NKOTB just announced their 8th annual cruise for 2016 is taking off from New Orleans and heading down to Cozumel, Mexico in October. Pre-sales start this Wednesday, January 27th for Block Nation members, so we hope like any good fangirl you’ve been putting money in your New Kids cruise fund! Watch the official trailer for the 2016 cruise below. As if NKOTB + Beach wasn’t enough to convince you, this certainly will… Just #WaitTil8!
If you’ve seen “Rock This Boat,” you know what an epic adventure/party the cruise is. And you never know what could happen on the boat! Like that time there was a wedding and Joey walked the bride down the aisle and Donnie officiated (literal fangirl tears every time Joey appears in that captain’s outfit help)
As we’re sure you’ve heard by now, Winter Storm Jonas is going on tour across the East Coast this weekend, with stops in D.C, Philadelphia, NYC, and Boston. We thought the storm might breakup before it hit New York, but it looks like this reunion tour is coming full speed ahead. Here’s the perfect playlist for your weekend.
1. “Games”
When you’re waiting for the snow to start falling, wondering if the meteorologists are just playin’ games with your heart.
2. “SOS”
When the snow actually starts and you panic realizing you never bought milk and loaf bread (even though you’re lactose intolerant and gluten free)
3. “Burnin’ Up”
When you’re trapped in your apartment with the radiator blasting, unable to open the window without letting in a foot of snow.
4. “Time For Me To Fly”
When you can finally go out and go sledding! Pro tip: you can get some serious air on the hills in Central Park.
5. “Hello Beautiful”
When you see that cute sledding bae.
BONUS: DNCE – “Cake By The Ocean”
What we all wish we were really doing this weekend.
We caught up with NYC’s The Classic Kids at the release show for their debut EP, “Forever Strong.” Check out our interview below and get to know more about Eric, Max, Mattyboy, and Mikey G. Who would fangirl over Sam Hunt? What album would the guys bring on a roadtrip? Watch and find out!

Last year the inaugural FarmBorough Festival took over Randall’s Island and brought 3 days of country music to NYC. The fest was such a success it’s coming back in 2016, and the first performers were just announced!
