We’ve been waiting on a release date since Hoodie Allen revealed he would be dropping a new album early this year, titled “Happy Camper.” We won’t have to wait much longer – the album will be available this Friday, January 22nd, as a free download! We can’t wait for more new music from Hoodie after his smash “People Keep Talking.” We’re sure this album will have everyone talking as well. Hoodie just released his new single and video, “Are U Having Any Fun?” as well. Watch it below!
The video for his new single, “Are U Having Any Fun?” will be released tomorrow at Noon. Check out the dates for Hoodie’s upcoming tour HERE. We suggest getting tickets ASAP if you haven’t already as many shows are selling out!
The Australian Open kicks off this weekend in Melbourne! It’s time for our annual bae-watch list. Here are some of the (many) players we’ll be rooting for for the next two weeks.
1. Borna Coric
Coric finished 2015 as the youngest player in the top 100. He is definitely one of the top young guns to watch in 2016 – he already has a win over Rafael Nadal, and played his first ATP World Tour final last week in Chennai. And is it just us or does anyone else get a little Jake Miller vibe from him?
The young American has started 2016 with a bang, beating top players Kevin Anderson and David Ferrer en route to the finals in Auckland. Jack has a powerful, aggressive forehand and the game to match. But he’s also known for his great sportsmanship, suggesting his opponent Lleyton Hewitt challenge a call during Hopman Cup last week.
P2Hugz is p2cute. He teamed up with fellow Frenchman Nicolas Mahut to win the US Open doubles trophy last Fall. The duo also made it to the finals of the 2015 Australian Open, so they will be confident playing on these familiar courts. Pierre-Hugues is also looking to qualify for the singles draw (ALLEZ!!!)
Taylor is another young American player on a hot streak. Since winning the US Open Juniors title a few months ago, he has gone on to win 3 ATP Challenger titles and risen to 154 in the rankings. Fritz is also playing qualifying st this years tournament.
We’re not sure which Benoit will end up at this year’s tournament: the one who beat Nishikori at the US Open or the one who has on court meltdowns. But we can guarantee he’ll be entertaining to watch either way! We also suggest following him on Instagram for heart- eyes worthy photos.
The Australian Open is sadly Hewitt ‘s last tournament as a professional. We’ll be cheering Aussie Aussie Aussie OY OY OY until the last point. We expect him to go down fighting in some epic 5 set matches.
Macklemore & Ryan Lewis just announced their next album will be released on February 26th! We can’t wait for more new music from the duo (can you believe it’s been over 3 years since “The Heist”?!?) Like “The Heist,” Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ new album will be self released. Check out the message M+ RL posted on their website to announce the news and watch a preview below.
Their international tour kicked off this month across the USA. Check out all the dates HERE and get tickets soon, many are sold out already. P.S. GUYS we are still waiting on an NYC show please and thank you.

Dierks Bentley just made our Monday by announcing he’s releasing a brand new album set for release in early 2016 called “Black!” While there is no official release date yet, you can pre-order the album now at Dierks.com and get a special “Black Card,” which grants you exclusive access to songs, merch and other surprises. You’ll also be entered in a contest to go to and meet Dierks on opening night of his 2016 tour AND win two tickets to EVERY SHOW on the tour. (Dierks totally understands fangirls, this is the best contest ever…who wouldn’t want to follow Dierks around all Summer?!?)
As Dierks told Entertainment Weekly, the new album is inspired by Dierks’ decade long marriage with his wife Caroline, whose maiden name is Black. The album explores the deepest corners of what it’s like to be in such a a strong relationship. The heartfelt album is rumored to have a big rock sound to it, which is something country fans are no stranger to, and neither is Dierks. He’s not afraid to change up his sound saying “If I was making a record to just to make a record… I would quit.”
Pre-sales for the album are available now on Dierks’ official website. Join Dierks’ fanclub, The Congress to get exclusive first access to pre sale tickets and other cool prizes! Stay tuned for an announcement of Dierk’s 2016 tour dates!
NYC’s The Classic Kids are releasing their debut EP, “Forever Strong,” on January 15th! Mikey G, Matty Boy, Eric James, and Max Dean take their musical influences from the 80s and add their own twist to create a unique, yet classic sound. We love their fun pop-rock style and their modern take on a retro style. Their infectious first single, “Just Begun,” will have you singing along in no time. Only having been together for two years as The Classic Kids, these guys are ready to take over your playlists and prove that they are definitely an act to watch in 2016!

2016 is off to a great start and with so much new music to look forward to, we’re breaking it down to our Friday Five pop punk albums (and EPs) that we’re stoked about! We’ve got some oldies coming back for more, some newbies here to break new ground, and a genre that’s here to stay, saying “we’re more than just a phase, MOM!!!”
1. Good Charlotte: Untitled
Out: Spring 2016
Benji and Joel Madden are back with their original gang of misfits from Waldorf (worldwide) and are promising a new album filled with familiar sounds. No word on an official release date yet but they’ve been reawakened by the pop punk forefathers are are working with John Feldman on this new record!
2. Simple Plan: Taking One For The Team
Out: Feb 19th, 2016
Pierre, Jeff, David, Chuck, and Seb never actually stopped making albums as Simple Plan, they just flew under the radar for a few years. Now that pop punk is having a revival of sorts, they’re here to show the newbies that you can branch out and have Nelly on a pop punk album with a video that looks like a 90s boyband throwback.
3. Waterparks: Cluster Out: Jan 15th, 2015
Waterparks recently signed with Equal Vision Records and MDDN management but these guys are set to be the most promising breakout of 2016. Their new EP “Cluster” is sure to be filled with infectious hooks, sing along choruses, and melodies that’ll have you craving for more! (see what we did there?) We suggest you get on this bandwagon before it’s too late – these guys are gonna be HUGE!
4. The Starting Line – “Anyways” Out: Feb 5th, 2016
The Starting Line have been teasing new music at their annual Holiday Show for a while now but the tail end of 2015 saw the release of their first new song in SEVEN YEARS!!!! We may or may not have clutched our computers and cried while we listened to it (spoiler: we did.) “Anyways”, the EP comes out February 5th and you should get it because The Starting Line Rock (.com)!
5. SWMRS – “Drive North” Out: February 12th, 2016
Formerly known as “Emily’s Army” and featuring Joey Armstrong (yes, Billie Joe’s son & spitting image), SWMRS are the epitome of the Bay Area music scene. They match bubblegum power pop with grit of punk rock to churn out a fun perpetual summer sound all their own. Catch them on their first headlining tour this Spring! Get the dates here.
