Paramore Announce “Writing The Future” Tour

Paramore just announced a string of shows this Spring to close out the “Self-Titled era” of the band, and they’re bringing Copeland with them!  “Writing The Future: An Intimate Evening of Music With Paramore” will bring the band to smaller venues and theaters around the United States.   Check out what the band had to say about the shows below.

“It feels right to bring the Self-Titled era to a close.  We’ve had a very personal and hugely triumphant journey with this one.  What wouldn’t feel right is saying goodbye to this time in the band’s career and not celebrating it with our fans in some special way.  So we’ve decided to do one last little run with it.  Smaller shows, beautiful theaters…and we’re not calling it a tour, by the way.  Each night will be a little event, or as we said just a few seconds ago, a celebration.  As we acknowledge the past few years (and more) of everything we’ve been through together, we’re also looking forward together at all there is to come.”

Shawn Mendes Reveals New Headlining Tour Dates

Few artists can get the internet buzzing like Shawn Mendes.   Within minutes of announcing something big was coming, #ShawnsFirstHeadlines was trending worldwide.   Shawn revealed the dates one by one,  sending the internet into a frenzy by giving only coordinates as clues or things like “We heard there’s some pretty awesome food here.”  (Which we immediately and accurately guessed as Paris because yes, the food there is AWESOME, and Shawn you must try some Pierre Herme macaroons while you’re there.)

The new shows are an extension of Shawn’s first headlining shows last fall, where he hit New York, Los Angeles and Toronto.  Be ready to buy tickets because those shows sold out in minutes, and we’re sure this next round will too!   The first 50 ticket buyers in each city will also get a free meet & greet with Shawn at the show!   Everyone will get a copy of Shawn’s debut album when it’s released.  Tickets go on sale on January 24th at 12pm local time for the US, and January 23rd 9am local time for dates in the UK and Europe.  Set those alarms!  Visit ShawnMendes.com for more info.

New Politics Release “EveryWhere I Go” Video

We’ll be honest – Pete Wentz has an ear for bands that eventually take off.  He recently signed Copenhagen-by-way-of Brooklyn band New Politics to his re-launched DCD2 label. Made up of two friends from Denmark (David Boyd and Soren Hansen) and one insanely talented Long Island drummer (Louis Vecchio), this pop/rock/electronica dance trio will have you singing and dancing to their music before their set is done!  Oh, and you might want to pick up your jaw from the floor as soon as David Boyd shows you his breakdancing background.

New Politics just released the official video for their latest single “Everywhere I Go (Kings and Queens)”.  The band are in the middle of their “Everywhere I Go” Tour with Bad Suns and SomeKindaWonderful which wraps up at the end of November.

AJR’s Infinity Tour Stops At The Gramercy Theatre

AJR’s Infinity Tour had a hometown show in NYC on Sunday night at the Gramercy Theatre.   It’s been a while since their last headlining show in the city, and New York welcomed them back with open arms.  The tour is in support of AJR’s new single and EP, “Infinity.”  Their set included all of the tracks from the new EP, and some older favorites like “The World Is A Marble Heart” and “Livin’ On Love.”

P1030517

With their smooth harmonies and a little brotherly banter, AJR kept the crowd engaged and dancing throughout the show.  The band is a lot of fun to watch live, especially during”Pitchfork Kids,” which featured a crazy drum off by Jack and Ryan.

P1040524

The guys are especially talented when it comes to creating song mashups — a mix of R. Kelly’s “Ignition,” The Beach Boys’ “Wouldn’t It Be Nice,” Meghan Trainor’s “All About That Bass,” and their own “I’m Ready” was a standout.

The show ended with a double encore, as Adam, Jack and Ryan went into the crowd with opening act Minor Soul for an acoustic singalong to “Ho Hey” by The Lumineers, a throwback to their days spent busking around the city, where they honed their performance skills.

The show was also streamed on Yahoo! Screen with Live Nation.  If you have a chance to see AJR on tour, go!!!  The Infinity Tour is heading to Boston, Philly and upstate New York next.  Check out all of the dates here and pickup a copy of the Infinity EP on iTunes!

Nick & Knight Live At The Best Buy Theater in NYC

Nick Carter and Jordan Knight brought their duet project, Nick & Knight, to the Best Buy Theater in New York City on Friday night and it was everything we could have imagined and more for two boy band members teaming up for an album and tour.

P1020515

During the concert, Jordan kept picking on Nick for being a trooper and powering through the concert even though Nick had almost lost his voice and was having a hard time singing.  That didn’t slow down his dance moves though, which he showcased in their terrific 90s medley mid-concert.  We might be biased but the best part of the concert might have been that cover of Ginuwine’s “Pony” that had the audience screaming with delight – like it was 1996 all over again! Watch their 90s medley below, which on its own is worth the price of admission.

P1020072

Nick and Jordan slowed things down a little when they broke out an acoustic guitar and keyboard to sing one of the most heartfelt songs on the album – “Halfway There.”  Making sure to give their larger than life fans the right stuff, Nick and Jordan also covered their boy band hits “I Want It That Way” and “Step By Step.”

P1020180

While we’re sad Jordan didn’t sing “Stingy” (Donnie was busy filming his TV show on Friday night), the sold out audience was treated to “Give It To You” and “Larger Than Life” featuring Nick Carter on the electric guitar.

Watch Nick & Knight sing “Paper” live below.
