Following the success of his first platinum single, “Leave The Night On,” Sam Hunt revealed that his next single to hit country radio this week will be “Take Your Time.” The track is off of Sam’s debut album, “Montevallo,” which went straight to the top of the charts when it was released in October. Sam officially debuted the single on “Late Night with David Letterman” last night. Watch his performance below!
We love the play on words and the mix of influences you can hear in “Take Your Time.” Sam’s music is a blend of country with some 90s R&B. Pickup a copy of “Montevallo” on iTunes now!
The Lipstick Graffiti Tour, Sam’s first headlining tour, sold out in just minutes in venues around the country. If you missed out on getting tickets, stay tuned for more dates!
One of our favorite Thanksgiving traditions is the release of People’s Sexiest Man Alive issue. It’s the perfect reading material for your car/plane/train/bus ride home. We can’t help but feel like this year’s list is a little bit lacking. Here’s who we would include if we could takeover People for a day. (sidenote: if you haven’t seen the episode of “Don’t Trust The B” where James Van Der Beek receives the sexiest man honor, do yourself a favor and watch it now).
1. Sam Hunt
This up and coming country singer was recruited for the NFL but decided music was his true calling. And thank god because Sam Hunt’s deep voice and his thick Georgia drawl are part of his charm. He’s a talented singer and songwriter, with a unique sound incorporated his wide range of influences. Oh, and his rapping skills are on point too. Grab a copy of Sam Hunt’s debut album “Montevallo” on iTunes or Amazon now so you can sing along on the “Lipstick Grafitti” Tour.
2.Austin Mahone The one man boyband is basically all of your favorite boyband members in one. He’s currently in the studio working with Max Martin on his debut full length album. We’re hoping it will capture more of that 90s pop sound we heard on “The Secret” EP. Since Martin is responsible for “I Want It That Way,” “Baby One More Time, and “It’s Gonna Be Me,” among countless others, we’re sure it will. Make sure to pickup a copy of the new Teen Vogue for some beautiful wall-worthy photos.
3.Jake Miller
Florida born singer/rapper Jake Miller definitely qualifies as “sexy” – have you seen his muscles? Any guy who can make a goofy face and still look good is definitely a keeper! Jake is also very good about interacting with his fans on Twitter. Be sure to pick up a copy of Jake Miller’s new EP “Lion Heart” on iTunes or Amazon now!
4.Grigor Dimitrov
HEART EYES EMOJI all day because not only is Grigor one of the hottest young tennis stars (just look at that backhand!), he also is very sweet to his fans – he even stopped a match to help a ball girl who fainted (probably at the sight of him). Grigor also appreciates the finer things in art like art, custom designer travel bags, and puppies!! Make sure to follow him on Instagram.
5.Ryan Lewis Ryan Lewis is just a beautiful man. Not only is he a talented producer/DJ, he’s also been using his popularity for a good cause and launched the charity The 30/30 Project to help aid those impacted by HIV/AIDs. Lewis is definitely the lesser known member of the Grammy winning duo (Macklemore & Ryan Lewis if you’re totally clueless), as spoofed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. That definitely would not have been our reaction to spotting Ryan Lewis in the park.
It’s been a long week, feels like two. Here’s what we’ve been listening to!
1. “Single For The Summer” – Sam Hunt
Blame it on the fact that we’re seeing Sam Hunt again in 5 days (!!!!!) but we can’t get this song out of our head. The track is off of Sam’s debut album, “Montevallo,” which if you don’t already have you need. Go to iTunes.
2. “Ray Bans” – The Railers
We’ve basically been singing this nonstop since seeing The Railers again on the Tattoo (Your Name) Tour a couple of weeks ago. You can get it on “The Geraldine Sessions” EP.
3. “Tip Toeing In My Jawdins” – RiFF RAFF
File this one under stuff we didn’t mean to like, but accidentally do. The song has a catchy chorus, and is also a great anthem against haterz. The iconic video was released this week, even shouted out by Austin Mahone. Seriously, if you don’t love JODi HiGHROLLER, you can sleep outside in a non-Versace sleeping bag.
4. “We Ride” – North Of Nine
Fnagirl favorite North Of Nine kept it pretty simple with the official video for their debut single “We Ride,” featuring the band in performance shots.
5. “Shut Up And Dance” – Walk The Moon
The insanely catchy first single off the bands’ brand new album “Talking Is Hard” (out 12/2) has a very 80s themed video that we love! Bet you can’t shut up and dance while the band are showing off their goofy dance moves.
Sam Hunt just announced his first headlining tour, kicking off in West Hollywood in January! And, best of all, he’s making a stop in NYC! (Loyal Secret Fangirl readers will know this is a huge deal for us.) We love how Sam’s unique mix of country and R&B influences blend into his distinct sound. He’s also an incredibly fun artist to watch live. Even on his opening spot on the “Up In Smoke Tour,” the whole crowd was singing along.
You don’t want to miss this one – Sam’s single “Leave The Night On” has gone platinum, and his first album “Montevallo” debuted at #1 on the country charts. He just sold out his first headlining show on Long Island next week, and we’re sure he’ll be selling out arenas one day. Pre-sales start Wednesday Nov 12th, and general on sales begin Friday Nov 14th!
Check out the full list of “Lipstick Graffiti” Tour dates below. Sam is bringing fellow country artists Michael Ray and Native Run along for the ride.

Whether we hit “replay” on our AppleTV to rewatch Sam Hunt’s live performance videos, or someone catches us humming 5SOS’s new single, we all have those songs that we can’t stop listening to. This week’s Friday Five is a short playlist of the songs we just can’t seem to get enough of!
1. Jake Miller – First Flight Home
On the heels of his new single “First Flight Home”, Jake Miller announced that he would be playing at Miami’s Y100 Jingle Ball 2014 – something he says has been on his bucket list for a long time! Watch the official video for “First Flight Home” below.
2. Sam Hunt – Break Up In A Small Town
Sam Hunt is being billed as a “soon to be superstar”, and when we caught him opening for Kip Moore on the CMT “Up In Smoke Tour” we fully agreed. Sam is set to play Emporium on Long Island in November and he’s one artist we will gladly go to “almost the Hamptons” for because he’s THAT good!
3. 5 Seconds Of Summer – Good Girls
Jingle Ball is the perfect exposure for the Australian pop punk band to potential fans that might not realize they actually do like guitar driven music! 5SOS are scheduled to perform at a bunch of annual jingle ball festivities around the United States in anticipation of their huge summer 2015 headlining tour!
4. North Of Nine – We Ride
Jackson Guthy’s new band North Of Nine hit the ground running with a single and a video for “We Ride”. While the band aren’t touring just yet, they’re looking to the future and something big could be on the horizon for them.
5. Born Cages – Rolling Down The Hill
Local indie band, Born Cages are a fangirl favorite and not just because of their sleek sound, churning out catchy song after catchy song. Their latest single “Rolling Down The Hill” is getting added to a bunch of radio stations and it’s definitely a fun song during live shows! Born Cages are slated to play two showcases at CMJ in New York this October.
After seeing Sam Hunt opening for Kip Moore at the sold-out first show of the Up In Smoke Tour in NYC, our first question was WHEN CAN WE SEE HIM AGAIN?! Lucky for us, and thanks to My Country 96.1, we won’t have to wait that long. The Long Island radio station is bringing him out for a show in November!
He’ll be playing in Long Island at Emporium in Patchogue, NY on November 19th. Tickets go on sale this Thursday, October 9th.
The crowd was especially awesome during Sam Hunt’s set at the Best Buy Theater – nearly everyone was singing along. Not bad for a newcomer whose first album isn’t even out yet (Montevallo is due on 10/27!) You won’t want to miss this one – if the last show was any indication, this guy will be playing much bigger venues next time he’s in town.

Fall is here, which means there’s a chill in the air, everything is pumpkin flavored, and it’s time to savor those last moments outdoors. Here’s some new music for you to listen to while you sip that pumpkin spice latte, and pretend winter is never going to happen.
1. Weezer – “Everything Will Be Alright In The End”
Due October 7th – Pre-Order
We love to rock out like it’s 1994, and have high hopes for this album from one of our favorite bands for the last two decades (!!) Also, Halloween costume ideas: Go as Rivers Cuomo or the awesome monster from the album cover.
2. Hoodie Allen – “People Keep Talking”
Due October 14th – Pre-Order We keep talking about the awesome videos Hoodie has released to go along with the album, like his latest for “Act My Age.” He’s also a perfect example of an independent artist who is great at giving fans what they want, and is slowly building up to the album release with more content, contests and interactive ideas (like inviting fans to leave voicemails which could end up on the album)
3. Sam Hunt – “Montevallo”
Due October 27th
We can’t say enough good things about Sam Hunt. He is definitely THE country artist to watch right now. His single “Leave The Night On” recently went gold, and the “X2C” EP has been holding place in the Top 40 chart since its release in August.
4. Taylor Swift – “1989”
Due October 27th – Pre-Order
We’ll just have to shake off the fact that Taylor isn’t making country music anymore, but will definitely be giving this album a chance as we’re curious to see what she will come up with!
5. Nick Jonas – “Nick Jonas”
Due November 11th
The Jonas Brothers supposedly split over “musical differences” last year. Now we can finally see what direction Nick was hoping to take the band (hint: it’s nothing like the Administration..) Joe, we hope you’re next. (More “Love Slayer”?)
Rising country star Sam Hunt is ready to take on the music world one hit song at a time. His debut album, “Montevallo,” will be released on October 27th! Growing up in Georgia, Hunt played football not knowing he could make a living writing songs. Eventually he moved to Nashville and started writing for artists like Kenny Chesney and Keith Urban, before starting to create his own material. Sam gained attention through social media, having his music available free to download. Now, he’s signed to his own record deal, and heading out on tour with Kip Moore this Fall. Sam’s “X2C” EP, which came out this summer, made a Top 40 debut on the Billboard charts. Check out the track listing for his debut album below.

It’s hard to believe that we’re already nearing the end of summer. (Seriously, how is Labor Day next weekend?!) Which means you’ve got just a couple weeks left to find (or enjoy) that summer romance. Here’s the soundtrack to your summer love.
1. “19 You + Me” – Dan+Shay
This nostalgic track paints the picture of a perfect summer romance. From sweet tea kissin’ to that first dance in the sand, just listening to this song makes you feel like you’re spending a hot day on Myrtle Beach back in 19–.
2. “Alice By The Hudson” – AJR
One of AJR’s biggest influences are The Beach Boys, and you can certainly hear it in this track. “Alice By The Hudson” sounds like a modern day update of the ultimate summer love song, “Surfer Girl.”
3. “Young Love” – Jesse McCartney
We’re loving the retro-pop vibes of JMAC’s new album, “In Technicolor.” A great love (or a great love song) will make you feel like you’re 17 again.
4. “Shower” – Becky G
This catchy track is everything you’d want in a summer romance, and will have you dancing in the mirror and singing in the shower.
5. “Vacation” – Sam Hunt
Okay, so this is more of a love song to summer itself and an ode to being on vacation. A reminder that you’ve got 2 weeks of summer left: use them well.
Rising country star Sam Hunt has been in heavy rotation in our summer playlists, with tracks like “Raised On It” and “Leave The Night On.” His debut album isn’t due out until October 27th, but Sam decided to release a little preview of what’s coming. The “X2C” EP out today features new tracks along with the single “Leave The Night On.” We’ve loved everything we’ve heard from Sam so far, so we’re thrilled to have a couple of new songs to hold us over until the album release!
