The Faim Announce “Summer Is A Curse EP” Due Out Sept 7th

Australia is really kicking it up a notch with their music exports lately and The Faim are ready to take the world by storm.  After working with massive names like Josh Dun of Twenty One Pilots, Mark Hoppus of Blink-182, snagging co-writes with Ashton Irwin of 5SOS (“Summer Is A Curse”) and Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy (“Saints Of The Sinners”), The Faim tapped legendary producer John Feldmann for their debut “Summer Is A Curse EP” due out September 7th.

The Faim aren’t letting anything stand in their way and have already racked up an impressive 3.5 million global streams on Spotify on their last single, “Summer Is A Curse.”  The band just unveiled their newest  pop friendly single called “A Million Stars” and displays frontman Josh Raven’s powerhouse vocals.

When asked about the new EP, the band said “To say we’re excited about releasing this EP is an understatement. More than just songs, to us these six tracks are a window into our world. We’ve been overwhelmed by the support of the community around us and welcome you all on this beautiful journey. We’re proud to be able to share our music with you and hope you enjoy listening as much as we’ve enjoyed writing it.”

The “Summer Is As Curse EP” will serve as a prelude to The Faim’s hotly anticipated debut album expected in 2019 and will include five brand new tracks that show off their stadium ready sound, impressive songwriting chops, as well as their pop-punk energy and infectious hooks.

In Real Life, CNCO, AJ Mitchell & More Rock Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day at the US Open

Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day is one of our favorite days of the year as it brings together two of our favorite things: music and tennis!   The event is in celebration of Arthur Ashe, the tennis player and humanitarian who won the first US Open title in 1968.  This year was extra special as it’s also the 50th anniversary of the US Open!

On Saturday, current tennis players Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Madison Keys, Angelique Kerber, and Serena Williams hit the court along with young players from the NJTL and Net Generation.  The show also featured performances from some of the hottest rising artists.  AAKD has a knack for booking talent before they make it big: past performers include Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Rihanna, Justin Bieber, & Demi Lovato just to name a few.

The show was hosted by Skai Jackson and Alex Aiono, returning to Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day for his third time!  Echosmith kicked off the show with their hit singles “Cool Kids” and “Over My Head.”   In Real Life celebrated their one-year anniversary since they came together on ABC’s “Boy Band” by performing in front of one of their biggest crowds to date!   They showed off their moves and harmonies to their new single, “Tonight Belongs To You.”

Djokovic, Nadal, Kerber, and Keys hit the court for a target challenge alongside young player Nicole, representing the NJTL chapter in Silver Springs, MD.  Each player had to hit forehands and backhands, as a tally was kept of each target that was hit.  Nicole blew the pros off the court and hit more backhands and forehands than any of them!  Each player was hitting for a special charity.

Serena Williams hopped on court with a group of lucky Net Generation players!  She rallied with some players and even showed off her jump roping skills!  This will be Serena’s first US Open since becoming a mother last year and as always she was thrilled to be a part of AAKD!

AJ Mitchell was surprised with the news that he’d be performing at Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day during an interview with Radio Disney’s Morgan, who also co-hosted the show.  AJ sang his catchy new song “Girls,” from his new EP “Hopeful.”

Kim Petras’ bubbly pop sound helped keep the party going with her infectious “Heart To Break.”

CNCO performed on the court in perfect boy band formation.  They had the crowd moving to their hits “Reggaetón Lento (Bailemos)” and “Se Vuelve Loca.”  Their performance definitely earned some of the biggest screams of the day!

All of the performers joined Shine MSD and drama students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on stage for the finale for a special performance of “Shine.”   The song has become an anthem for people to spread love and awareness, and that you’re never too young to make a change.  It was a fitting end to a day in honor of a man who also worked to share the same message.

AJ Mitchell is set to take over your heart and your playlist.  He just dropped his debut major label EP, “Hopeful,” on Epic Records in July, after gaining a solid fanbase through his short videos posted on Instagram.  AJ started playing music at a very young age and soon branched out into songwriting and composing.  He’s already gathered over 35 million streams on his tracks and has had sold out shows at the Roxy in Los Angeles and Webster Hall in New York.  AJ played in front of a huge crowd at Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day in New York, winning over the crowd with his infectious pop sound.

SecretFangirls.com Interview Neverkept

Philadelphia based rock band Neverkept kicked off the Summer with brand new tunes and a new video for “Vertigo” which is already racking up the views.  Formerly knows as “Count To Four,” and earning the reputation of one of the hardest working underground DIY bands in recent years, the guys agreed it was time for a new start. They tapped Broadside guitarist Dorian Cooke to take over lead vocals and re-branded with a name that reflected their personal convictions of always striving for your goals and acknowledging the possibility of “what if.”

Now, Jay, Dorian, Aaron, Pete, and Neale are pushing forward with promises of more new music and more shows.  We caught up with Dorian Cooke and Jay Miller before they hit the stage in NYC with PVMNTS earlier this month and talked about what record they’d take on a road trip, who they would fangirl over, and what’s next for Neverkept!

Album Preview: Like Pacific – “In Spite Of Me”

Canada is churning out some of the best pop punk that we’ve probably ever heard.  Like Pacific are gearing up to drop their sophomore album “In Spite Of Me” on July 27th via Pure Noise Records.  When asked about the new record, singer Jordan Black said “When we wrote Distant Like You Asked, I felt super proud of writing an entire full length album but was very nervous. In Spite of Me means more to me than anything I’ve ever done creatively. We worked super hard writing and recording this album. The hardest I’ve ever personally worked.”

The new album has 10 brand new tracks including “Sedatives,” “Had It Coming,” and the title track “In Spite Of Me” which all showcase the high octane, in your face whether you like it or not energy of the new album.   “In Spite Of Me” is a natural progression both lyrically and musically for one of the hardest working pop punk bands in the scene today.

Watch the brand new video for “Self Defeated” below!

Pre-order your copy of “In Spite Of Me” on iTunes or Amazon now.  Catch Like Pacific on tour with Seaway and Bearings across Canada this Summer!
