Seaway + Trophy Eyes Announce “The American Vacation Tour” 2018

Canadian pop punk group Seaway are teaming up with their Aussie friends in Trophy Eyes for an epic mashup tour called “The American Vacation Tour” hitting cities across North America this November and December.

Both bands released incredibly diverse and genre bending albums that continually push  boundries forward and draw in new fans.  Seaway’s “Vacation” dropped to high praise all around and showed just how pop these skate punk kids can go while Trophy Eyes chose to defy their brand of hard punk rock drenching their new album “The American Dream” in pure pop rock gold.  Microwave, Can’t Swim, and Hot Mulligan are tagging along on this winter tour so be sure to get there early.

Presale tickets are available now through SoundRink.  General on sale begins Friday Sept 7th so be sure to grab yours while they last!  Check out of all the tour dates below.

Album Preview: Like Pacific – “In Spite Of Me”

Canada is churning out some of the best pop punk that we’ve probably ever heard.  Like Pacific are gearing up to drop their sophomore album “In Spite Of Me” on July 27th via Pure Noise Records.  When asked about the new record, singer Jordan Black said “When we wrote Distant Like You Asked, I felt super proud of writing an entire full length album but was very nervous. In Spite of Me means more to me than anything I’ve ever done creatively. We worked super hard writing and recording this album. The hardest I’ve ever personally worked.”

The new album has 10 brand new tracks including “Sedatives,” “Had It Coming,” and the title track “In Spite Of Me” which all showcase the high octane, in your face whether you like it or not energy of the new album.   “In Spite Of Me” is a natural progression both lyrically and musically for one of the hardest working pop punk bands in the scene today.

SecretFangirls.com Interview Seaway

If you haven’t heard of Seaway yet, you’re about to!  We first caught the band opening for Sorority Noise and Knuckle Puck almost a year ago and we’ve been hooked on their catchy pop punk tunes ever since.  Singer Ryan Locke, guitarist/vocalist Patrick Carleton, guitarist Andrew Eichinger, bassist Adam Shoji, and drummer Ken Taylor have perfected the art of crafting hook filled songs like “Slam”, “Airhead”, and “Trick (So Sweet)” that you can’t help but sing along to!  They also put on a super fun, high energy live show that is not to be missed.

Hailing from Ontario, Canada, Seaway are currently on tour with fellow Canucks, Simple Plan in honor of the 15th Anniversary of “No Pads No Helmets…Just Balls.”  The tour officially kicked off in Florida last week and includes a stop in NYC on Saturday at Playstation Theater.  We can’t wait to hear them play their massive debut album front to back.  Catch us in the pit raging like our 13-year old selves would have wanted!

We had the chance to talk with Seaway guitarist Andrew Eichinger about what’s on their tour rider, and what to expect from the next Seaway album.  Read our interview with Andrew below!

SecretFangirls.com: You just kicked off the Simple Plan “No Pads No Helmets Just Balls” 15th Anniversary Tour for such an iconic pop punk album. What are you looking forward to most on this tour?
Andrew Eichinger: We’re really looking forward to playing in front of a ton of new people and doing our best to win them over. But it will also be very cool to see Simple Plan play that album front to back. Being from Canada, it was such a huge record for us when we were like 9/10 years old, so to be on this tour is one of those full circle moments for us and we’re super excited.

How would you describe a Seaway show in 3 words for those who haven’t seen you live before?
High Voltage Party

What are some “must haves” on your tour rider?
Nacho chips, queso and salsa. Not too spicy though lmao ;)~

Do you have any pre-concert rituals?
Not really. We’re pretty boring honestly. Usually just have a couple suds.

What artist have you or would you totally fangirl over if you met?
Shania Twain or Alanis Morissette.

The nostalgia is in full force with your album “Colour Blind” from the art to the sound.  What artists are your biggest influences as a band?
I think late 90’s / early 2000’s pop punk bands like Blink, Sum 41, New Found Glory and even Simple Plan are the obvious ones on that record because that’s the stuff that we grew up on. But we’re influenced by all kinds of different artists and bands on the pop and rock side of things that come out a little on Colour Blind and will continue to, on our next record.

You’ve been teasing photos from the studio lately, what can fans expect from a new Seaway album?
It’s hard to say right now but based on the songs we have it will be a natural progression from everything we’ve done in the past, but there will definitely be some new twists and turns in there as well.

Is there anything you’d like to say to your fans?
Shout out to the fans who are spending a little more than usual to come see us on this tour. It means a lot to us to have our fans there wildin out while we play in front of a sea of people that haven’t heard us before.

Catch Seaway on tour with Set It Off and Simple Plan on the “No Pads No Helmets…Just Balls” 15th Anniversary Tour!

Grab a copy of “Colour Blind” on iTunes or Amazon so you can sing along on tour!

Friday Five: New Artists To Watch

It’s been a while since we did a Friday Five but we’re bringing it back!! Each week, new music is released on Fridays and gets our weekend off to an awesome start. It’s hard to sift through all of the new tracks if you don’t know what you’re looking for.

Sometimes we let the Youtube shuffle do it’s thing and lead us in new places we never ventured before. Other times we take cues from our current favorite bands and see who they’re playing shows with or what they’re listening to.  This week, let us help you find your new favorite artist to elevate your weekend to the next level!  Check out our Friday Five New Artists To Watch!

Chase Atlantic – “Into It”
Chase Atlantic just released their new video for “Into It” on Snapchat which is great because that’s where we spend most of our social media time anyway. Genius idea, awesome band, perfect song.

Citizen Four – “Testify”
They sing in 4 part harmony, have luscious hair, cool boy style, and they dance. What more do you want in a boy band?! Watch C4’s lyric video for “Testify” and you’ll be a fan before it’s over.

James Maslow – “How I Like It”
Okay, so he’s not “NEW” but as a solo artist he is brand new! James Maslow, from BTR, just released his first solo album and it’s SO GOOD SO GOOD!!  “How I Like It” is the first single and that’s how we like it.

Seaway – “Slam”
Whether you saw Seaway opening for Real Friends with Moose Blood or you’re catching them on the upcoming Simple Plan tour, these Canadians bring back everything we loved about late 90s/early 00s pop punk.  Every song from these guys gets us jumping and screaming “EVERYTHING IS COOL MAN!”

As It Is – “Hey Rachel”
Patty Walters poured his heart and soul into the latest As It Is record and his raw honesty on the song “Hey Rachel” is showing us that it’s okay to be well…just, Okay. Even when you don’t think you’re fine, you’ll always have your family to lean on.

Simple Plan Announce “No Pads, No Helmets…” 15th Anniversary Tour

Simple Plan just announced a HUGE 15th Anniversary tour for their debut album “No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls” for the Spring!   Pierre, Seb, David, Jeff, and Chuck are keeping this tour strictly pop punk – they’ve named Seaway and Set It Off as openers for this very special anniversary tour.

“No Pads, No Helmets…” has all of the Simple Plan hits that we love and some of the most emo pop punk songs we’ve heard since the album dropped way back in 2002.  Simple Plan never fail to put on an incredible and high energy show just like they did when they first started in 1999.

Presales for SP Crew members start Tuesday January 10th while public on sales begin Friday January 13th at 10AM.  Don’t miss your chance to see Simple Plan perform “No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls” in it’s entirety!
