YUNGBLUD Releases Debut Album “21st Century Liability”

Dominic Harrison, professionally known as YUNGBLUD is coming out of the gates swinging with infectious poppy melodies and hip hop beats contrasting with dark angsty lyrics on his first full length album.  He’s had major success with tracks like “I Love You, Will Ya Marry Me” which documents the tragic love story of a man who proposed to his girlfriend with graffiti on Sheffield’s Park Hill bridge.  YUNGBLUD also has two tracks, “Falling Skies” and “Tin Pan Boy” featured on the 13 Reasons Why: Season 2 soundtrack.

With a debut album just released through Locomotion/Geffen Records, massive crowds at the final cross country 2018 Vans Warped Tour, and word of mouth praise from every corner of the globe, YUNGBLUD is destined to be a star with a great career on the very near horizon.

While the album has radio friendly bouncey pop tracks like “Die For The Hype,” YUNGBLUD’s wide range of influences are apparent through the entire album with few tracks sounding the same.  He uses this to his advantage and created his own brand of genre bending tracks including the album title track, “21st Century Liability” which draws influence from early 90s hip hop drum loops, crunchy grunge rock guitars, and enough angst to power a whole city.

YUNGBLUD just dropped a music video for his latest single, “Medication” directed by Adam Powell and takes a wild medicated trip.  Watch the video below!

If you missed YUNGBLUD playing Vans Warped Tour, you have another chance!  He’ll be hopping back on Warped Tour from July 26th – 31st.  He’s also hitting a whole bunch of cities for the “21st Century Liability Tour” throughout the US including a stop in NYC.  Check out all of the dates HERE!

Album Preview: Homesafe – “One”

Homesafe are Pure Noise Records’ latest hot ticket band to watch in 2018.  You probably caught them when they opened for Free Throw or Boston Manor this past Spring or on Slam Dunk this past May but Homesafe are breaking out on their own. Hailing from the suburbs of Chicago and comprised of Ryan Rumchaks (bassist, Knuckle Puck), Tyler Albertson, Emanuel Duran, and Joe Colseby, Homesafe are dropping their new full length album, “One,” on June 29th through Pure Noise Records.

Every song on this album is a banger drawing inspiration from their 90s forefathers while managing to keep their sound fresh and relevant.  You’ll want to blast this record as loud as you possibly can while racing down the highway with all the windows down.  It’s THAT good!
The first singles, “Stay Away,” “Vanilla-Scented Laser Beams,” and “Run” are early indicators of just how good this band is.  Homesafe are bringing back the fuzzy grunge sounds made famous by Queens Of The Stone Age and Foo Fighters, “One” is an album of epic proportions.
Stand out tracks like  “Say Something” and “Time Ain’t Free” are driving forces on the album bringing us to the album closer, “fin.”  This is one of the best, if not the best album closers we have ever heard. “fin” is a bittersweet instrumental piano track.  This is one of the best, if  not the best album closers we have heard in a very very long time.
Watch the official video for “Stay Away” below.

MILKK Release Sophomore EP, “If You’re Reading This, I Love You”

MILKK are a Nashville, TN based alt-pop trio dropping their sophomore EP titled “If You’re Reading This, I Love You.”   Hand picked to open for one of our former Artist To Watch artists, The Stolen on their upcoming US tour, MILKK will be your new favorite band very very soon.

“IYRTILY” is only four songs but make no mistake – those four tracks are jam packed with silky synths, smooth vocals, and grooves that you’ll want to play on repeat forever.  It’s hard to pick a favorite because each song has such a different mood but they effortlessly melt together to make one solid EP.  “I Hate This Song” takes a hard left mid song bringing in some dark heavy fuzz but the effortless switch is exactly what made us fall in love with this band.

Sophomore slump, who?  MILKK are at the top of their class with the new EP.

Somme Releases Debut Self Titled EP

Somme is ready to take the spotlight with her debut self titled EP.  Jordan Cantor, professionally known as Somme, has been playing guitar since she was 6, started writing songs a few years later, and then mastered the drums and bass by the tender age of 12. After performing in the indie rock band Traffic Bear in high school, Jordan enrolled in The Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU but decided to take an internship at Killphonic in Los Angeles for first hand industry experience.  Since moving to LA, Jordan created her art-pop persona Somme and began writing what would be her debut EP.

Jordan Cantor embraces her new identity Somme, drawing inspiration from the greatest female songstresses and powerhouses like Robyn, Lorde, and of course Fleetwood Mac.  She spent a year and a half writing and recording songs for her debut and strips away layers exposing the most vulnerable parts creating a debut that is equal parts beautiful, heart wrenching, and soulful.
