Album Preview: Bearings – “Blue In The Dark”

Ottawa based pop punk band Bearings have had an incredible year and they’re getting ready to skyrocket their blend of bouncey emo rock into the stratosphere with their eagerly awaited debut full-length album Blue In The Dark due out October 12th on Pure Noise Records.  Since releasing the “Nothing Here Is Permanent” EP in September 2017, the quartet have quickly become one of the most buzzworthy bands in the underground pop punk scene.

Bearings’ debut album will hook you from the first song and have you singing along the entire time.  In an era where too many bands have resorted to a shorter record format with too much filler, Bearings are bringing back the “all killer, no filler” approach.

Each song on Blue In The Dark propels the record ahead and lyrically tugs on your heartstrings.  “Beautiful Places” tackles the feeling of not being enough, whatever that means to you, while “Stuck In A Doorframe” chugs along from the first note and is easily one of our favorites on the record.  Other stand out tracks on the records include the 90’s Alt Rock infused “Careless Clarity,” the dreamy, steel string acoustic “Tide,” and blissfully happy “Eyes Closed.”

MILKK Are “Thinkin Bout U” In New Video

MILKK teased a new single all week and they surprise dropped the music video ahead of the release on Friday!  Singer Pat Kiloran goes through the motions to try and win back his girl in the video for “Thinkin Bout U.” The single take video was written by Pat Kiloran who also co-directed the new clip with Dawson Waters.   Following their last EP, MILKK are hinting at even more new music and the video finishes with a cryptic, single line of text reading “Welcome To My Headrush.”

MILKK just wrapped up a tour with The Stolen and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for the rest of the year!  If the new single is any indication, MILKK will be taking over your playlists very shortly, if they haven’t already.
