Hot Mulligan Drop “How Do You Know It’s Not Armadillo Shells?” Video

Hot Mulligan’s new video for “How Do You Know It’s Not Armadillo Shells?” is a perfectly numbing mix of the bands trademark easy core rock and their visuals that always hit extremely close to home.  The new track is the third song the band has released off their highly anticipated album “Pilot” dropping March 23rd through No Sleep Records.

When asked about the new single, singer Tades Sanville said “This song is about feeling bad at parties and social stuff, so we wanted to make a video that indicates just because nothing is wrong on the surface doesn’t mean there’s not something wrong in your head. Things can go from 0 to 100 really fast with no good reason.”

Watch the video for “How Do You Know It’s Not Armadillo Shells?” below.

SecretFangirls.com Interview We Were Sharks

We Were Sharks are heating things up ahead of their hotly anticipated album Lost Touch dropping on February 23rd through Victory Records.  We can’t get enough of the Cananadian group’s refreshingly bright and equally melencholy sound on the new album.  We got the chance to sit down with singer Randy Frobel during their headlining tour in Brooklyn, NY and he’s just as charming as you’d expect! We Were Sharks brought their high energy set to Gold Sounds Bar, showing NYC how Canada parties.

Watch our interview below and see what Randy’s favorite song on Lost Touch is, his must-haves on tour, and who caught him totally fangirling in Ottowa recently.

Album Preview: We Were Sharks – “Lost Touch”

Our latest Artist To Watch, We Were Sharks are hitting the road early in 2018 to gear up for the release of their brand new album Lost Touch on February 23rd.  The album is called Lost Touch but We Were Sharks haven’t lost touch with the genuine feeling and joy that pop punk brings to the entire scene.

“Beyond Repair” kicks off the album like shattering the glass walls surrounding the album.  Lost Touch as a whole shows the obvious personal and musical growth of the band from their previous releases and brings them to the forefront of the genre.  We Were Sharks are poised to take their rightful spot on the list of our favorite releases for 2018 so far.

“Hotel Beds” is a stand out track with the bouncey scream along chorus and contrasting verses.  However, “Stay” is the pinnacle of the album.  Lyrically and musically, “Stay” is the closest the band comes to radio perfection on the album which should be more than enough to push them through to Summer song playlist domination.

Broadside’s Ollie Baxter brings his sugary sweet vocals on “Late Bloomer.”  The track centers on the topic of keeping a hold on things you loved when you were young.  Ollie brings that something we were missing and really catapults the album through to the end.

Lost Touch is a solid listen start to finish filled with odes to the glory days of pop punk and sing along choruses.  We can’t wait to see what the future holds for We Were Sharks!

Watch the official video for “Ashley” now!

Lost Touch will be released February 23rd through Victory Records.  Pre-order bundles are available HERE and include exclusive items like posters, t-shirts, and hoodies.  Pre-order your copy on iTunes and Amazon so you can sing along on tour!

Album Preview: Broadside’s “Paradise”- Due Out June 16th

Broadside’s sophomore album “Paradise” is being heralded as the ultimate Summer album and rightfully so!  Every track is filled with sunny riffs and soaring vocals urging the listener to chase their dreams and really embrace the good and bad things in their lives.   From the stark contrast between the upbeat music and the dark introspective lyrics, Broadside are balancing the two polar opposites in perfect harmony.

Singer Oliver Baxxter’s lyrics will hit close to home for many, frequently speaking out about anxiety on “Laps Around A Picture Frame,” online culture and feeling alone on “Summer Stained,” and self sabotaging thoughts on the sunny “Who Cares?” However, the best song on the album comes at the very end in the form of the island infused “I Love You, I Love You, It’s Disgusting.”  The ukulele driven love song is sure to be a favorite purely for its simple honesty.

When we sat down with Broadside just before the album release, Ollie spoke about his favorite song on the record, “Summer Stained.” “It’s about post-Warped Tour depression which I think will register well with people. And it’s half acoustic which is new for us.”  The song as a whole is a painful reminder that nothing good can stay like Warped Tour, which only lasts for the Summer.  The song can mean something different to every person who listens to it.

High points of the album include “Tunnel Vision,” charging full force about fitting in with your peers, and “Disconnect,” which tackles the attachment we have with social media “likes” that ultimately mean nothing.  Ollie asks “When’s the last time you felt alive?” begging the listener to disconnect, unplug your mind, and seize the day.  “Miss Imperius” might be our favorite track on the album solely due to it’s bouncy drum and bass lines in the verses and the ripping guitar solo!

Broadside have crafted the most sonically diverse and deeply pop infused record of their career so far and we can’t wait to see what’s in store because there’s no where to go but up from here! “Paradise” is due out June 16th through Victory Records.

Watch our interview with Broadside and get to know the guys a little better!

Pre-order “Paradise” on iTunes or Amazon now.  Pre-order bundles are still available through the band’s official website and include exclusive merch items like “Paradise” themed sunglasses and enamel pins.

Former Richmond natives, now Los Angeles locals Broadside are about to release their most pop sounding record into the world.  The bands’ sophomore effort, aptly titled “Paradise,” is due out June 16th on Victory Records – just in time for Summer.   Ollie, Niles, Pat, and Dorian have taken a massive step forward on this record showcasing how many different influences and how “weird” they can get on a record while still maintaining their pop punk roots.

We got the chance to sit down with Broadside after their set on the Real Friends Tour in New York City to chat about what’s on their tour rider, their go-to karaoke song, who they would fangirl over, and their own ideas of “Paradise.”  Watch the interview below and get to know your new favorite kings of Pop Punk!

Album Review: “Other People’s Greatest Hits” By Patent Pending

Patent Pending have made a name for themselves through relentless touring and their high energy live shows earning them fans around the globe!  The Long Island group are releasing a cover album on May 26th titled “Other People’s Greatest Hits.”   It’s a nostalgic trip from 1995 thru today including hits from Miley Cyrus to Spice Girls – just watch out, they aren’t trying to Rick Roll you just yet.

The band always put their own twist on anything they cover, making each song their own. We’ve heard them play so many awesome covers over the years but nothing prepared us for the collection they’re about to share with the world.

PTPG tapped into their inner divas on “Shout Out To My Ex,” show their Latin side with “Livin La Vida Loca,” turn into EDM stars on an incredibly catchy mashup of “Wasted/Wake Me Up ” by Tiesto & Avicii, and turn into Jersey Boy Frankie Valli with “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You.”

Our favorite cover is the very last track, “See You Again” by Miley Cyrus.  The song is still a jam on it’s own but PTPG somehow made it even better!

Whether you like pop punk, EDM or straight up pop music, Patent Pending’s “Other People’s Greatest Hits” is an album the whole family can listen to on repeat.

Listen to “Livin La Vida Loca” below.
