Broadside are currently on tour in the UK supporting Trash Boat but the guys just released a super cute video for their ukulele centered song “I Love You, I Love You. It’s Disgusting.” from their latest album “Paradise.”
Frontman Ollie Baxxter directed the beachfront video and also shows that he’s a total romantic! When asked about the song, Ollie explained “This is a song for romantics. When you’re in love, you feel consumed in its warmth. I’m happy knowing that I’ve contributed to a very long list of love songs.”

Broadside’s sophomore album “Paradise” is being heralded as the ultimate Summer album and rightfully so! Every track is filled with sunny riffs and soaring vocals urging the listener to chase their dreams and really embrace the good and bad things in their lives. From the stark contrast between the upbeat music and the dark introspective lyrics, Broadside are balancing the two polar opposites in perfect harmony.
Singer Oliver Baxxter’s lyrics will hit close to home for many, frequently speaking out about anxiety on “Laps Around A Picture Frame,” online culture and feeling alone on “Summer Stained,” and self sabotaging thoughts on the sunny “Who Cares?” However, the best song on the album comes at the very end in the form of the island infused “I Love You, I Love You, It’s Disgusting.” The ukulele driven love song is sure to be a favorite purely for its simple honesty.
When we sat down with Broadside just before the album release, Ollie spoke about his favorite song on the record, “Summer Stained.” “It’s about post-Warped Tour depression which I think will register well with people. And it’s half acoustic which is new for us.” The song as a whole is a painful reminder that nothing good can stay like Warped Tour, which only lasts for the Summer. The song can mean something different to every person who listens to it.
High points of the album include “Tunnel Vision,” charging full force about fitting in with your peers, and “Disconnect,” which tackles the attachment we have with social media “likes” that ultimately mean nothing. Ollie asks “When’s the last time you felt alive?” begging the listener to disconnect, unplug your mind, and seize the day. “Miss Imperius” might be our favorite track on the album solely due to it’s bouncy drum and bass lines in the verses and the ripping guitar solo!
Broadside have crafted the most sonically diverse and deeply pop infused record of their career so far and we can’t wait to see what’s in store because there’s no where to go but up from here! “Paradise” is due out June 16th through Victory Records.

Broadside are showing that it’s okay to not be okay on their latest release “Laps Around A Picture Frame” off their highly anticipated second album “Paradise.” The new song showcases two different view points addressing anxiety, panic attacks, and feeling totally isolated in a crowded room which is something that is more common than you might imagine. The song is the first time guitarist Dorian Cooke steps up to the mic, breaking his silence to share his effortlessly smooth vocals and to split harmonies with front man Ollie Baxxter.
When asked about the track, Cooke says “We wrote the music, lyrics, and arrangement around a panic attack in a crowded environment. Even the name is an exercise for panic attacks taught to me by a therapist. The persona I represent is of someone that’s on the higher end of the social spectrum – someone popular and beautiful on the outside, but has that constant struggle internally.” Baxxter adds, “I portray a young female persona shaped by the harshness of her environment, which is a story shared with me by a close friend whenever she is in a public setting. I know it’s something much more common than people tend to show.”

Broadside just released a brand new video for their latest high energy single “Paradise” and urge listeners to “Chase your paradise and value your time” in the title track to their sophomore effort due out June 16th. The video perfectly encapsulates the band’s fun loving personalities in a beach-y inflatable filled video that takes a peek into their fans’ version of paradise. Polaroids filter in and out throughout the video and are filled with beach scenes, mountain climbs, and family photos sent in by Broadside fans. Taking their own advice, the band chased their own paradise by relocating to Los Angeles!
It’s clear these guys care about their fans and treat them as equals, not just fans. Front-man Ollie Baxxter says “Life is a journey, and it should be documented and valued forever, so we wanted to give our fans an opportunity to share their version of paradise with us, and share their special moments in our music video. Thank you to everyone for letting us take a peek at your paradise.”
