Earlier this month, we caught Ariana and the Rose opening for Heffron Drive. The New York-based group has a fun electro-pop sound, and lead singer Ariana DiLorenzo has some serious pipes. Their mash-up of “Wrecking Ball,” “I Knew You Were Trouble,” and “Summertime Sadness” blew us away.
Check out the video for their new single, “Heartbeat.”
It’s just 12 days until Christmas, which means every radio station, department store, and Duane Reade have been playing the same 5 holiday songs since November. Need a break from Taylor Swift’s version of “Last Christmas”? (we love this song too .. the first 5 times we hear it). Here are some of our favorite holiday songs.
NSYNC – Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays (aka the greatest holiday video of all time)
As the Heffron Drive Winter Tour is winding down, let’s remember what a blast this tour has been!
From hearing old favorites like ‘Time Wasting’ to witnessing epic rap battles between Dustin Belt and a lucky fan, to having our brains melted with the HD music, it’s easy to say that we would go to another Heffron Drive tour.
Best friends, Dustin Belt and Kendall Schmidt, from the boy band Big Time Rush *swoon* are taking the pop rock spectrum by storm. Kendall may not have been dancing like he does in BTR (extremely well we might add), but it was clear he felt very comfortable wielding a guitar most of the night. Our favorite song was “Feels So Good,” what the boys called a “funky 70s jam,” but what we call a Justin Timberlake throwback.
There are still a few dates left for you lucky West Coasters – check out HDWinterTour.com for all the details. Don’t miss your chance to see HD in an intimate setting. Get there early to see openers Ariana & the Rose and Eric Dash!
Formed in 2009, Midnight Red have been making a splash in the world of boy bands. Not only are they super cute, they harken back to traditional boy bands with *gasp* CHOREOGRAPHED DANCE MOVES! And boy, are they good at dancing, too!
Can’t get enough Midnight Red? Catch them opening for Austin Mahone on the MTV Artist to Watch Tour in 2014.
Midnight Red recently released their cover of *NSYNC’s “Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays” which includes footie pajamas, a dancing Santa Claus, and warm holiday wishes from the boys.
Don’t forget to check out their official video for “Take Me Home”
AJR, brothers Adam, Jack and Ryan of NYC, are currently filling the space in my heart for a musical band of brothers, recently ripped out by the Jonas Brothers (we won’t talk about that ever again).
Except for right now. Actually it was the Jonas Brothers breakup that led to our discovery of AJR. (The best thing to come out of the breakup besides that article Joe wrote for NY Magazine). Circa 2007 daily google news searching of Jonas Brothers resumed, as we tried to find an explanation (ANY EXPLANATION) of our concert being canceled 2 days before it was supposed to happen, led to the discovery of this article in the NY Post:
Check out the rest of their original music on their Vevo page. Oh, and did we mention that they write, produce, record and do everything themselves? The tracks were all recorded in their parents’ living room. #IMREADY
The video for BANGA BANGA came out today, and it’s BANGIN’!
Neon Wardrobe? Cheesy Dance Moves? He is a one man boy band and we love it. Anyone else catch the gangy wink and the Clueless jeep?
This video could have been on TRL in the golden era. (RIP 1998-2002)
