The Wheels Up Tour Lands at Jones Beach

A fangirl freakout definitely occurred when we found out that two of our favorite artists, Sam Hunt and Hunter Hayes, would be on tour together this Summer! Sam and Hunter are opening up for Lady Antebellum on the Wheels Up Tour, hitting cities across the US throughout the Summer. We’ve been counting down the days since the tour was announced in January and finally got to check it out when it hit Jones Beach!

It was a perfect early Summer night for the first show of the season at Nikon Jones Beach Theater. Sam Hunt got the evening started with hits like “Take Your Time” and “House Party,” and got the whole house on their feet. He even came out into the crowd to sing and get up close and personal with some lucky fans! Sam sure knows how to get the party started and leave the night on.

Hunter Hayes continues to impress us – every time we see him we are blown away by just how talented he is. You can also tell just how much he loves music and loves performing. Hunter makes sure that each live performance is a unique experience, and creates new arrangements with extended guitar solos and instrumentation. We’ve seen him quite a few times now, and have never heard the same song played in the same way. Hunter also incorporated some new skills, like beatboxing, and showed off his vocal range.

Hunter is also using his popularity for a good cause, and announced a campaign for the American Red Cross to go along with his new single, “21.” He’s encouraging 21,000 fans to sign up to donate blood, even if it means conquering their fear of needles. Read more about the #HH21SleevesUp Campaign!

My Country 96.1 Presents Sam Hunt, Michael Ray & Joel Crouse at Pennysaver Ampitheater 8/13!

Long Island’s My Country 96.1 just announced yet another Summer concert you don’t want to miss! The station is bringing Sam Hunt back for another headlining show, this time at the Pennysaver Ampitheater on August 13th! He’ll be joined by Michael Ray and Joel Crouse in an outstanding lineup. Seeing three of country’s hottest rising stars under the stars on a warm Summer night? We can’t think of anything better. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, June 6th at 10am! Get them quick because we’re pretty sure all of Long Island fell for Sam when the Wheels Up Tour landed in Jones Beach over the weekend!

North Of Nine announced a string of tour dates for this Summer, and fans were so eager for them, they crashed their entire website! You can see North of Nine Live at Aloft Hotels. We caught their NYC debut earlier this year, and we loved their energetic performance that brought their EP to life. Check out the dates below!

We’ve missed MKTO but the guys are back with a brand new song and ready to blow up the summer charts! Malcolm Kelly and Tony Oller debuted “Bad Girls” recently and we’re loving it so far.

The Friday Five: Country Groups

It’s officially Summer, y’all! Now that the weather is heating up, Summer tours are underway (our first is Lady Antebellum at Jones Beach!) we can’t stop listening to country-not that we want to. It was difficult to pick just five this week but these are our picks for up and coming-fresh faced country groups that are ready to storm the charts with their perfect harmonies and wild on stage energy!

1. Old Dominion
We were lucky enough to catch Old Dominion at Joe’s Pub in NYC a few weeks ago and we were blown away with how good they are to their fans. They’ve written for so many other country artists but these guys are ready to break out on their own and show the world what they can do!

2. The Railers
The Railers are one of the most fun groups we’ve seen both acoustically and plugged in! They really bring down the house with on stage energy every time we’ve seen them. The Railers are taking their show on the road with tour dates around the US including NYC’s first ever Farmborough Festival!

3. A Thousand Horses
NashFM called A Thousand Horses “one of the tallest bands in country” and after catching their private show in NYC, we know why. Between the height, the luscious hair, and the insane talent, these guys are revving up their engines- ready to kick it into overdrive before Summer is over!

4. The Cadillac Three
The band may be called Cadillac Three but these guys turn their set all the way up to 11! Loud, raucous, and ready to party, this group blend classic rock with country that will be the soundtrack to getting’ your Southern on this summer.

5. Natalie Stovall And The Drive
Natalie has been fiddlin’ around in music since she was ten years old, her on stage arena ready energy is what is getting this group noticed. Natalie was recently named one of CMT’s “Next Women Of Country” and it’s a no-brainer – Natalie Stovall and The Drive are here to stay!

Patent Pending have been oddly quiet lately, playing SlamDunk Fest in the UK, and enjoying family time back in the states. They recently announced they’ve been working hard on a brand new EP titled “Armageddon,” set to be released on July 31st! We’re so excited for new music from Patent Pending and can’t wait to see what they’ve come up with this time! Stay tuned more more details about the EP!

Listen To Austin Mahone’s New Track, “Torture”

Austin Mahone has been keeping us waiting for new music since his “Secret” EP came out last May, one of our favorites of the year. His next single, “Dirty Work,” is expected to drop “soon” and we hope he doesn’t mean band soon! Austin is fully aware of the torture he’s put us through while we wait for new music, so appropriately enough, he just dropped his another new track he wrote with Robert Villanueva called “Torture!”

It’s Memorial Day Weekend which mean’s it’s officially Summer! We’re looking forward to all of the outdoor concerts, BBQs, and of course some new music! Here are some of the albums dropping this Summer we can’t wait for!

1. Canaan Smith – “Bronco” out June 23
We’ve had Canaan’s EP playing nonstop, and earlier this week we got to hear more tracks off of the album at a show in NYC. This album is going to be GOOD.

4. Thomas Rhett – Title and Date TBD
While we don’t have any official info yet, Thomas is expected to drop his new album later this Summer. We love what we’ve heard so far, with the funky lead single “Crash and Burn” and also tracks that he’s been playing live, like “South Side” and the beautiful “Die A Happy Man.”

5. Cody Simpson – “Free” out June 23
This will be Cody’s first album he’s done entirely on his own, free to create the music he’s wanted to all along. Cody and his music are pretty much the definition of a laid back Summer by the beach.

Hunter Hayes Releases New Single “21”

Hunter Hayes created a frenzy among fans when he started posting blank photos on his social media. What did it mean?! Had his account been hacked? He posted 21 photos exactly, followed days later by a 2 and a 1, and a countdown page on his website. Looking back now, it all makes perfect sense. Hunter just dropped his new single “21,” appropriately enough, since today is May 21st! He’s been playing the track on the Wheels Up Tour with Lady Antebellum, and it’s the perfect upbeat jam for all those shows under the stars on a warm Summer night! FarmBorough Festival Releases Full Lineup & Schedule!

We are T-minus 36 days away from FarmBorough Festival, New York’s first country music festival, and what is sure to be one of the most memorable weekends of the Summer! The Festival just released the full lineup and schedule, so you’ll have plenty of time to plot which sets you’d like to catch. Canaan Smith will kick off the festivities first on the Main Stage Friday afternoon, while Luke Bryan will have you singing “I Don’t Want This Night To End” when he closes the fest Sunday night.
