You can usually tell how far an artist is going to make it based on the crowd’s reaction. After seeing Kid Quill on his first headlining tour, we know he’s on his way to the top. The crowd was hype from the minute he walked on the stage until the last encore, enthusiastically singing, jumping, and dancing along the entire show. Kid Quill’s gone from “the opener,” on tour with artists like Bryce Vine, to headlining his own “Meet Me at Sunset” Tour across the US.
The tour was in support of his latest album, “Sunset Diner,” which draws inspiration from music of the 70s and 80s combined with his modern hip-hop sound.
We caught up with Kid Quill before the last night of tour at Mercury Lounge in NYC. Watch our interview and learn about his favorite part of touring, what’s coming next, and his go-to diner meal.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, indie-pop songstress Niki Black has crafted a sound as unique as herself. Growing up in a mixed heritage household, Niki blended her father’s Chicago blues roots with her mother’s love of Iranian pop and classical music. She also cites flamboyant Operatic arias, the expressiveness of musical theater, as well as Lorde, Blood Orange, and Years & Years as major influences, “They’re the perfect blend of otherworldliness, beauty, modernity, and rebellion,” shares Niki.
Niki Black just dropped her debut single, “Not Coming Up” and it’s everything we’ve been craving from pop music! The single is dark, brooding, and beautiful, inspired by her first queer relationship. Niki is set to release her debut EP soon which closely mirrors Dante’s Divine Comedy and inspired by her studies in feminist theology loosely describes the journey from heaven to oblivion, or hell. “I wanted to retell that descent from a modern feminine perspective, one of the damned, which some of us may feel like sometimes, or all the time….whether it’s from religion directly, from a relationship, or from yourself,” shares Niki.

Every once in a while a topliner comes along who breaks through to mainstream success. ROZES’ breakthrough moment came when she co-wrote and sang on a track with The Chainsmokers, “Roses,” in 2015. She became known for her signature mix of pop, R&B and EDM paired with her powerful vocals. ROZES has written songs for some of today’s hottest artists including Cheat Codes, Louis Tomlinson, and more! She also dropped a song with Cash Cash, “Matches,” which shot up to the top of the charts. You might have also seen her on AJR’s sold out “What Everyone’s Thinking” Tour earlier this year.
We caught up with ROZES in NYC as she released her brand new single, “Canyons.” You can catch ROZES this Fall on the “Meteor” Tour with MAX! Watch our interview and get to know more about ROZES!

Taylor has been teasing us with “big news” for a few weeks now. All was finally revealed in a Live Stream today hosted by Yahoo! And when Taylor says big news, she MEANS it. She kept dropping surprise after surprise, just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be any more news. In case you missed it, here’s what you need to know!
Taylor’s 5th studio album will be released on October 27th! The album, named “1989,” gets its title both from the year Taylor was born, and for the “late 80s pop” inspiration for the album. That’s right: this is the first full, purely pop album from Taylor. (Didn’t we all know it was headed in that direction?) There will be a deluxe edition available, with 3 extra tracks, and each physical copy of the album will include 13 Polaroids.
While there isn’t a tracklisting for the album yet (she can’t reveal everything!) You can pre-order the album on iTunes now and get an instant download of her new single, “Shake It Off.”
Taylor also performed “Shake It Off,” during the live stream. And then she dropped the video. Watch it below!
While we’re a little sad Taylor is leaving her country roots behind completely (her first album will always be our favorite), we’re excited to hear the next evolution of her sound. And, as she likes to follow the same patterns, we’re pretty sure that we’ll have a date in 2015 at the Prudential Center for the “1989” Tour. (Tour dates were the one thing she didn’t announce today…she covered literally everything else you could hope for!) Taylor did reveal that she will be hosting a contest and giving 1,989 lucky fans the chance to win a meet & greet on tour. Visit TaylorSwift.com for more info on how to enter!
This weekend T. Swfit will be performing at the MTV Video Music Awards. Tune in to MTV on Sunday, August 24th at 9PM EST to watch!
