Cody Simpson is premiering his first single as an independent artist this Friday on GMA! We’ve been eagerly awaiting new music from Cody since he announced last Summer he was leaving his record label in order to make the music he’s been wanting to make all along. We can’t wait to hear the track, named “Flower,” especially after hearing the preview Cody posted on Twitter.
Make sure you tune into GMA this Friday, February 6th to be the first to hear the new single! Or, if you’re in NYC, head over to Times Square Friday morning to try to catch it in person. Visit 1iota.com to sign up a chance to get a free VIP ticket to watch the performance from the studio!

NYC based alt rock band We Are Stations just released their latest single titled “Messed Up” and we already have it on heavy rotation in the Secret Fangirl office. The new single has more of the 90s alt sound we love, like in their first single “Keep Your Head Up.” It’s everything we wanted and more.

The multi-talented Jack Skuller just released the video for his single, “Hard to Want.” The video is one of our favorites at the moment – it’s cute, funny and creative. It was edited and “poorly drawn” by Jack himself, but hey it’s way better than anything we could have done! The track showcases Jack’s vocal talents, as well as his skills on both harmonica and guitar. Watch the video below!
Your baes and our #1 artist to watch in 2015, THE HEYDAZE, just dropped the music video for their new single “Don Juan.” The fun video goes perfectly with the song, and is guaranteed to brighten your day. (Especially as we deal with another “wintry mix” in NYC)

You know when you find a great new band, and you’re so excited you want to tell everyone you know / strangers on the street about them? Right now for us, that band is THE HEYDAZE. They just played their second-ever headlining show in Friday night, in front of a sold-out hometown crowd at NYC’s Gramercy Theatre. It’s remarkable that less than a year ago, THE HEYDAZE did not exist. The band works so well together, and has the stage presence of a group that’s been doing this for years. We’re sure we’ll be hearing a lot more from these guys in 2015 and beyond.
THE HEYDAZE is Jesse Fink (lead vocals, guitar), Andrew Spelman (lead guitar), Andrew Underberg (keyboards, production), and Alexander Glantz (drums). The band played a high-energy set that had everyone dancing from start to finish. Seriously, a HEYDAZE show is one big party. Their upbeat, guitar-driven pop sound make it impossible to not sing and dance along, even if it’s your first time hearing them. They write extremely catchy songs with original melodies, smart lyrics, and a sense of humor.
The band introduced some new music, including “Dumb” and “Side Effects,” which have been stuck in our heads since the concert. The set also included their cover of TLC’s “No Scrubs,” which was a hit with an audience that grew up on 90s music.
For the encore, the band sat at the end of the stage for an acoustic performance of “The Alphabet Song,” and ended the night with their first single, “Little Bandit.” They’ve accomplished so much in the short time since the track was released, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for the talented group.
Watch THE HEYDAZE perform “Dumb” at Gramercy Theatre below and visit our Tumblr for more photos from the show.

Was 1999 the greatest year for music of all time? We think yes. THE HEYDAZE clearly share our love of 90s pop – they do a killer mashup of Sisqo’s “Thong Song” and Mario’s “Let Me Love You” on tour, and their latest cover is TLC’s classic jam “No Scrubs.” Obsessed. Listen below!
