After seeing Sam Hunt opening for Kip Moore at the sold-out first show of the Up In Smoke Tour in NYC, our first question was WHEN CAN WE SEE HIM AGAIN?! Lucky for us, and thanks to My Country 96.1, we won’t have to wait that long. The Long Island radio station is bringing him out for a show in November!
He’ll be playing in Long Island at Emporium in Patchogue, NY on November 19th. Tickets go on sale this Thursday, October 9th.
The crowd was especially awesome during Sam Hunt’s set at the Best Buy Theater – nearly everyone was singing along. Not bad for a newcomer whose first album isn’t even out yet (Montevallo is due on 10/27!) You won’t want to miss this one – if the last show was any indication, this guy will be playing much bigger venues next time he’s in town.

We’re thrilled to have Hunter back in New York, after his appearances on the Today Show and Arthur Ashe Kids Day last month! There have been a lot more country shows coming to NYC lately, too, and we say keep ’em coming!
Singer Joel Crouse is making a name for himself in the country world and setting his sights on the top of the charts with his debut album. When fans were able to purchase “Even The River Runs” on iTunes at midnight, the album climbed up to #6 on the country charts and it kept pushing its way upward as release day dawned.
Joel wrote or co-wrote every song on the promising debut effort, which is compiled of songs about the struggles of growing up and growing apart. He’s already opened for country superstars like Taylor Swift, The Bad Perry, and even Darius Rucker. Crouse isn’t one of those “cover a song on YouTube” stars, he took the time to build up his fan base grass roots style: in dive bars and on the road.
Watch the official lyric video for Joel Crouse’s single “Why God Made Love Songs” below.

We often complain about the lack of smaller country artists playing in NYC, because it seems like a lot of country stars only play in New York when they’re big enough to sell out MSG! But things are looking brighter for country fans in NYC. This summer we’ve noticed a LOT more country artists planning tour stops in the city, at venues of all sizes. Chase Rice, Brantley Gilbert, Cole Swindell, Dan + Shay, Kip Moore, Love and Theft, Sam Hunt…you can see all of them in NYC this fall!
Love and Theft just announced the “Night That You’ll Never Forget Tour,” along with newcomer Joel Crouse. Love and Theft have been nominated for ACM and CMT Awards for Duo of the Year, and are known for their singles “If You Ever Get Lonely” and “Night That You’ll Never Forget.” Pickup a copy on iTunes now!
Joel Crouse is releasing his debut album, “Even The River Runs,” on August 19th! Watch the lyric video for “Why God Made Love Songs” below, and pre-order a copy of the album on iTunes.

Possibly the biggest country singer of the 90s, Garth Brooks, just held a press conference to announce that he is coming out of retirement and releasing a new album this fall. And going on a world tour! And this comes just days after another 90s icon, Shania Twain hinted at a tour next year (We need this to happen please!). Country music was a lot different back then, before the development of the “bro-country” genre. Here are some of our favorite country songs of the 90s!
1. Shania Twain – “That Don’t Impress Me Much”
It took much debating to decide which Shania video to include on this list. But that leopard outfit alone made this video the clear front runner. (Runner Up: “Man I Feel Like a Woman”)
2. Billy Ray Cyrus – “Achy Breaky Heart”
We used to jump rope to this song in gym class. Billy Ray’s mullet is out of control in this video. And check out the amazing ensembles for inspiration – 90s fashion is back after all! And did you catch Tish Cyrus dancing in the front row?
3. Faith Hill – “This Kiss”
There was no escaping this song in 1998, no matter what music genre you listened to. Everything about this video is so 90s it hurts. We’re still not sure why she’s riding on a peach.
4. LeAnn Rimes – “How Do I Live”
The original blonde teen pop-country crossover released her first album at the age of 13. We’re pretty sure this song was played at every middle and high school dance that took place in the late 90s.
5.Lonestar – “Amazed”
Another song that was inescapable in the late 90s, and played at school dances and weddings nationwide. You’ll probably still be able to sing along, even if you haven’t heard the song since.
Bonus: Shania Twain – “Man I Feel Like A Woman.”
We just couldn’t resist. Let’s go girls.
When it comes to interacting with fans, Dan + Shay are one of the best artists out there. So when it came time to release the video for their new single, “Show You Off,” they asked their fans to tweet, tumblr and share the news in order to unlock it. While they originally had a goal of 2 days, their loyal fans unlocked the video in around an hour! Check it out below!
The video shows off their fans and what life is like on the road for the busy duo, who have been on tour with Hunter Hayes and Blake Shelton this year. They even feature fans speaking about what make Dan + Shay so special to them. (We totally agree with all of you!) From staying hours after every show doing signings, to constant interaction on Twitter, the guys totally get that it’s the little things that can make a fan’s day.
Dan + Shay are going on their first headlining tour this fall across the US, including a stop in NYC! The Where It All Began Tour is on sale now! And if you haven’t gotten a copy of our favorite album of the year, what are you waiting for? Get “Where It All Began” on iTunes now!
They’ll also be stopping by Live with Kelly and Michael on Thursday, July 31st. Make sure you tune in! (Or stop by the studio in NYC and say hello!)
Country singer Cassadee Pope is performing on the “Fox & Friends” All-American Concert Series on Friday, June 13th! You may remember Cassadee’s days as the lead singer of Hey Monday, but her pop-punk days are long gone. After winning Season 3 of “The Voice,” Cassadee Pope made her debut as a solo artist with her album “Frame by Frame.” She just won Breakthrough Video of the Year for “Wasting All These Tears” at the CMT Awards in Nashville!
If you want to catch Cassadee’s performance tune into “Fox & Friends” at 8AM EST on June 13th! Or if you’re in NYC, head over to 1211 Avenue of the Americas by 7AM to be in the audience! (Fangirl tip: “Fox & Friends” morning concerts are one big party) Check the All-American Summer Concert series site for more info! She’ll be performing tracks off of “Frame by Frame” and discussing her summer tour, with Tim McGraw and Kip Monroe. Check out CassadeePope.com for all the dates!
Rising country star Chris Lane‘s single “Broken Windshield View” was released this week and it’s already climbing up the iTunes charts! Chris hails from North Carolina, and has opened for acts such as Brantley Gilbert, The Band Perry and Eli Young Band. We’ve been on a a major country kick, so are excited to have some new music for our summer soundtrack! The song is a perfect summer jam, talking about living in the country, tearing up the dirt roads with your friends, and all the pretty girls you see on the weekends. Check out the lyric video below!
