Few artists have had as much chart topping success as Mariah Carey. She ranks in second place in the most #1 singles of any artist, just behind The Beatles. She just announced her upcoming second full album of her 18 #1 hits, named “#1 to Infinity.” Here are our all time favorite Mariah #1s and music videos!
1. “Fantasy”
This video is basically our Summer outfit and activity goals.
2. “One Sweet Day” featuring Boyz II Men
Why aren’t there more boyband/pop star duets? We need an *NSYNC/Britney single. The closest we have is Hannah Montana and Jonas Brothers “We Got The Party”
3. “Heartbreaker” featuring Jay-Z
Definitely one of the greatest music videos of the TRL era (RIP). We’d still vote for it today.
4. “Honey”
We love that this video is a mini Bond movie. They just don’t make music videos like this anymore!

Australian pop singer Cody Simpson’s new album “Free” is available for pre-orders! We were a bit confused when we first heard the words “free” and “pre-order” in the same sentence, but then we realized his album is called “Free” and that you still have to pay for the album. The meaning behind the album title is pretty cool – this album is the first time that Cody has been “free” to create the music that he’s always wanted to. His first album as an independent artist will be released on June 25th! Cody’s new sound is the perfect soundtrack for Summer nights at the beach. Check out the tracklisting below!

We’re not sure what’s happened to Spring in New York, so we’re dreaming about Summer concerts. It’ll warm up someday, right? We’re about two months away from the inaugural FarmBorough Festival – NYC’s first Country fest. We can’t wait for a weekend listening to our favorite Country artists under the stars on warm Summer night on Randall’s Island. Of course we’ll be singing along to hits like Luke Bryan’s “Play It Again” and Dierks Bentley’s “Drunk On A Plane,” but we’re also excited to see some of Country’s newer acts. Here’s our Playlist for the up and comers we can’t wait to check out at FarmBorough Fest!

1. Canaan Smith – “Hole In A Bottle”
We had so much fun during Canaan’s energetic set on the “Where It All Began Tour” with Dan + Shay. He got the crowd going from the start, opening with this fun track from his EP that is sure to be a hit.
2. The Railers – “Ray Bans” The Railers have a sunny outlook on life and their music is just as fun as they are during a live show. “Ray Bans” is a great display of how well their voices harmonize together as well as blending their influences.
3. Chris Stapleton – “Traveller”
Chris has written hits like Luke Bryan’s “Drink A Beer” and Thomas Rhett’s new single, “Crash and Burn.” He’s about to release his first solo album, “Traveller,” in early May. His album release show at the Mercury Lounge in NYC sold out, so we can’t wait to see his set at FarmBorough!
4. The Cadillac Three – “I’m Southern”
The Cadillac Three’s new single “White Lightening” is super mellow compared to previous songs from these Southern boys. Their live shows are not to be missed – they definitely bring some rock n roll to country.
5. Maddie & Tae – “Girl In A Country Song”
The duo crashed onto the scene with their anti-bro country anthem last year. They also released one of our favorite music videos of the year.
It’s always interesting to see how an artist goes viral these days. Our latest artist to watch, Chris Janson, shot to the top of the charts after his single “Buy Me A Boat” was played on the Bobby Bones Show. He spun this track to rave reviews (twice in an hour once which on radio is almost unheard of) and soon enough the track climbed the iTunes charts, kicking Sam Hunt and Little Big Town out of the top spots on the country chart, while also reaching #7 on the overall chart. Pretty impressive for any artist, let alone an unsigned one! Head to Rolling Stone for more of Chris’ remarkable story.
Of course, social media played a part as well, as more and more people shared the track on Twitter. We have to thank Dan Smyers (of Dan+Shay) for introducing us to this one. And we’ve had it on repeat ever since! Take a listen below, and you’ll see what we mean.
The song’s popularity hasn’t gone unnoticed by the industry. Last week, CMT announced plans to produce a music video for the song, a first in the network’s history. We wouldn’t be surprised to see it shoot to #1 on the CMT Hot 20 Countdown, too! And Chris Janson is an independent artist no longer – he just inked a deal with Warner Nashville, and shared this perfect photo to make the announcement.
Even if you haven’t heard of rising country band Old Dominion, chances are you’ve heard a track or two that one of the members have written. Does “Say You Do?” ring a bell? Or “Ex To See?” Old Dominion is Matthew Ramsey (Lead Vocals, Guitar); Brad Tursi (Lead Guitar, Vocals); Trever Rosen (Guitar, Keys, Vocals); Geoff Sprung (Bass, Vocals); and Whit Sellers (Drums). They’ve written for Dierks Bentley, Tyler Farr, Sam Hunt, The Band Perry, Dustin Lynch … and that’s just to name a few. Their own single, “Break Up With Him,” has been slowly climbing the charts and dominating Sirius XM’s “The Highway” countdown.
“The Highway” hosted two back to back sold out shows with Old Dominion at Joe’s Pub last night. We’re glad we got to experience the band live before they move onto bigger venues – like oh, Met Life Stadium in NJ? They’ll be playing there in August, opening up for Jason Aldean and Kenny Chesney on their Summer tour.
We’ve heard people ask what’s happened to rock music? Well if you’re looking for it, country music is a good place to start. Old Dominion is a country act, but they sure know how to rock. Their set included a mix of material they have written for other artists, and tracks off of their EP, released earlier this month. The band is incredibly energetic and fun to watch live, interacting with audience members and each other. It’s nice to see a full country band as well, with each member bringing something different to the table.
Pickup a copy of the Old Dominion EP on iTunes or Amazon now! Head over to OldDominionBand.com to check out their upcoming tour dates. If they’re playing in a small venue near you, we highly suggest checking them out while you have a chance! Watch them perform “Break Up With Him” below.
Nick Jonas is teaming up with Hilton Hotels to perform live exclusively on Twitter’s new live streaming video app, Periscope, tonight at 9:15pm EST! This marks the first time an entire live concert will be streamed on Periscope. The show will be broadcast from the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas.
Fans are invited to have a virtual front row seat to this once in a lifetime concert by downloading the Periscope app and following @HiltonHHonors on Twitter. You know when you can’t make it to a concert, and your best friend Facetimes you during your favorite song? We imagine this is something like that. Only you’ll be watching from the best seat in the house. We’ll definitely be tuning in and here’s hoping for many more Periscope concerts in the future!
We’re still fangirling over Nick’s performance with Dan + Shay at the ACM Awards last weekend. Watch what happened behind the scenes in rehearsal!
