“Faking It” Starring Gregg Sulkin Premieres Tonight on MTV!

We were sad when we found out Gregg Sulkin wouldn’t be returning to “Pretty Little Liars,” but at least it was because he was busy filming a new series, “Faking It.”  The show premieres tonight on MTV!

We’ve been fans of Gregg since his appearance in the iconic “Pass the Plate” series on Disney Channel.  “Nothing warms your tum like soup made by your mum!”  And of course his role as Selena Gomez’s werewolf/boyfriend on “Wizards of Waverly Place.”

If you’re in NYC, Gregg Sulkin will be doing a meet & greet at Planet Hollywood in Times Square today at 5pm!  Check Gregg’s Twitter for more updates.  We’d love to go and ask if he has any spinach soup, but we’ll be seeing Jackson Guthy and 5SOS a couple of blocks away!

Check out the trailer for “Faking It” below & be sure to watch on MTV tonight at 10:30pm!

Man Crush Monday: James Maslow on “Dancing With the Stars”

After a great weekend, we always get a serious case of the Mondays.  At least we have “Dancing With the Stars” to look forward to!  And by “Dancing With the Stars” we mean “James Maslow.”

We always knew how talented and hilarious James is, thanks to his part in Big Time Rush, but he’s proved week after week on DWTS that he has the talent, passion and drive (not to mention the voting power of the fan girls) to bring home the mirrorball trophy.  He’s consistently improved and raised the bar week after week, even scoring a rare perfect score for his contemporary dance to “Let it Go” last week.

Check out some of our favorite Maslow dances below.

The Salsa:

And let’s not forget where it all started:  Big Time Rush, whom we credit for bringing boy bands back in fashion, are one of the few LEGIT boy bands out there.   As in they actually dance.  Check out some of our favorite moves below.  (BTR keep saying “it ain’t over” … we’re hoping for just one more tour?)

Be sure to follow James on Twitter & tune into “Dancing With the Stars” tonight at 8 on ABC!

New Comedy “Younger”, Starring Sutton Foster and Hilary Duff, Coming to TV Land

Checking our morning Vulture feed, one headline popped out: “Sutton Foster, Hilary Duff Heading to TV Land” and we knew immediately that this show would be UHH-mazing!! Broadway darling Sutton Foster starred in the ABC Family – Amy Sherman-Palladino written show Bunheads (We miss this show!  Can we please have it on Netflix?).

Hilary Duff, of course, starred as Lizzie McGuire on the Disney Channel and put out 4 albums before taking a break to start a family (how cute is Luca?!!) and write a book series (if they get movie deals, we might need her to star in those).   She’s also been hitting the studio, and recently signed a new record deal!

The new TV Land comedy, called Younger, centers around Liza(Foster), a 40-year-old single mom who is trying to re-enter the working world.  Posing as a 26-year-old, Liza gets hired as an assistant for a difficult boss and befriends her co-worker (played by Duff) in the Darren Star created comedy.

This show sounds amazing! Anything with Sutton Foster and Hilary Duff is sure to be a hit.  Now that TV Land has picked up the comedy, we can’t wait for the show to start airing!

In the meantime, enjoy this video of Hilary singing “So Yesterday.”

Be sure to follow Sutton Foster and Hilary Duff on Twitter, as well as @YoungerTV for the premiere date!

First Look: “Girl Meets World”

We’ve been majorly fangirling since we first heard the announcement that one of our favorite shows of all time, “Boy Meets World,” was getting a sequel!

We finally have the first look at the new series, “Girl Meets World,” which follows Cory and Topanga’s daughter, Riley.

The series is sure to be a hit with everyone who remembers watching the show growing up, and if it’s anything like the original, we’re sure a new generation of fans will follow.

It seems 90s nostalgia is at an all time high this year, but hey we’re not complaining!  (Perfect conditions for an *NSYNC reunion, right?)

Still no word on the premiere date, but the show has already been ordered for a full season!   We’ll definitely be tuning in to see Cory and Topanga.  And fingers crossed Shawn & Eric will be making an appearance or two!

Friends With Better Lives Premieres Tonight!

When we hear the phrase “comedy on CBS,” this is generally something we prefer to avoid.  But, the premiere of tonight’s “Friends With Better Lives” could change that.   We have higher than average hopes for this one, given the ensemble cast they’ve pulled together.  So we’ll be giving this one a chance!  Tune in tonight to CBS at 9pm EST to check it out!

1.  James Van der Beek!
While admittedly he was never our favorite character on “Dawson’s Creek “(that would be Pacey Witter), it just wouldn’t have been The Creek without him.  We absolutely LOVED James on “Don’t Trust The B,” where he played a caricature of himself.  (We are still mourning the loss of this show a la Bill Hader.  If you haven’t watched it, do yourself a favor and check it out on Netflix or Hulu ASAP!)

2. Brooklyn Decker
Andy Roddick is one of our favorite people of all time, and it turns out his wife Brooklyn is just as awesome.

3.  Maria from Roswell!  (Majandra Delfino)
We recently rewatched this classic 1990s teen drama, and are glad to see her back on TV!  (If you are also planning on rewatching Roswell, we suggest stopping after season 1).

4.  Kevin Connolly
Aka Eric from Entourage!

Check out a preview for the show below

Be sure to follow James Van Der Beek and Brooklyn Decker on Twitter!

Pretty Little Liars Season Finale Airs Tonight! Will Ali Really Tell All?

Earlier this year, before the Winter Premiere of Pretty Little Liars, we posted some questions we wanted answered before the end of the season.  Let’s see how they’ve done so far.

1.  Is Mr. Fitz (our favorite character) really evil?  Or is he just faking being a member of the A-team, like Toby?   Although we’ve been saying all along Mr Fitz is so perfect something HAS to be wrong with him, so it wouldn’t surprise us if he has been A all this time…
Answered?:  NO.  And we still don’t buy this whole “I’m just writing a detective novel” story…

2.  What happened to Gregg Sulkin, Mr. Fitz’s little brother?  (He will always be Gregg to us thanks to this commercial from Disney)  Nothing warms your tum like soup made by your mum!
Answered?:  NO.  Gregg has been filming another TV show, but the reason for his character’s departure was never answered in the show.

3.  Can we have more shirtless scenes with Jason?
Answered?:  Yes!  He finally reappeared in last weeks episode, so he’s got one more chance to take it off!

4. Where is Toby?  I don’t think we see enough of him, and we would like more.  Has he been modeling?
Answered?:  Not enough Toby!  We have no idea where he is.  Does he go to school?  Does he have a job?  We forgot.

5. What ever happened to that cute guy, Andrew, from the decathlon team that Spencer was playing “strip study” with?
Answered?:  He came back!  He’s the one that got Spencer re-hooked on drugs!

6.  How do the girls have time to do their hair every morning? When do they do their homework? How do they have so much time before school? We could barely get dressed and out the door before the first bell!
Answered?:  WE STILL HAVE NO IDEA.  Although props for making Spencer look realistically tired/how a drug addicted high school student who is being stalked by an unnamed physchopath should look for a few episodes!

7.  Is Caleb going to come back from Ravenswood?  We tried watching that show and gave up after 1.5 episodes, so we have no idea.  We hope Macy Misa is okay.
Answered?:  Yes, because it seems the rest of America and ABC Family gave up on Ravenswood too, and it was canceled.  And someone just told us Macy Misa was a ghost on this show.  So, welcome back to Rosewood, Caleb!  Sorry Hanna has been kissing literally every single male she’s spoken to since you left!

8. WHY DOESN’T ANYONE JUST TELL THEIR PARENTS / A RESPONSIBLE ADULT / MR FITZ / ANOTHER HOT MALE ADULT FIGURE / ETC THAT THEY ARE BEING STALKED BY A?!?
Answered?:  Last week’s episode was the first time we’d seen multiple parental units in one episode this season, with the exception of Mrs. DiLaurentis (who may or may not be A).  So,  No.

Tune in to ABC Family at 8pm Tuesday, March 18th to watch “Ali Tell All.”  But will she answer any of OUR questions?   Probably not, but we’ll tune in anyway.

James Maslow and Cody Simpson Join Dancing With the Stars Season 18

As we’ve said before, we generally stay away from reality TV shows.  Unless of course they star a current or former boy band member.  In which case, we are ALL IN.

We’d been expecting Cody Simpson to join the cast of Dancing With the Stars, since he kindly asked his fans if they thought it would be a good idea back in December.

Cody Simpson DWTS offer tweets

But we had no idea that one of our favorite boy band members, James Maslow of Big Time Rush, would be joining the cast this season.  He was so good at keeping it secret we literally screamed when it was announced on Good Morning America this morning!!

Watch the announcement clip below.

We haven’t been invested in DWTS since the season of Lance Bass and Cody Linley, but you can bet we will be tuning in and voting for James every week.  (And Cody.  But mostly James).  We can’t wait for his dance moves, the glittery costumes he’ll have to wear, and of course the infamous James Maslow sass.  We’re hoping James will be around for a while, so apologies in advance for all of the vote spamming we’ll be doing.

Also joining the cast?  Winnie Cooper and DJ Tanner!

The 18th season of Dancing With the Stars premieres Monday, March 17th at 8pm on ABC.

Shows We Need on Netflix

We’ve basically been hibernating lately since we want to avoid this awful winter as much as possible. That means cranking up the heat, baking cookies, and marathoning 90s TV shows.  Netflix and Hulu have a pretty good selection but there are some major omissions. Here’s what we’d like to see added, preferably before spring hits and we start spending our time outside again.

1. Boy Meets World – With the “Girl Meets World” premiere happening sometime this year (really Disney?  You still can’t give us a date?)  it’s only fitting that we get a chance to catch up on the classic series first.  We’ve been missing this show ever since ABC Family stopped airing it weekday mornings (it was the perfect get-ready for work show).

2. Gilmore Girls – Every other long running WB series is on Netflix (“Dawson’s Creek,” “Roswell,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “One Tree Hill..”).  Except for “Gilmore Girls.”  And “Felicity.”  We love this show for it’s smart, fast dialogue and wit, and for bringing Adam Brody into our lives for the first time.

3. Summerland – A show that stars a pre-High School Musical Zac Efron (he still had a gap!), Jesse McCartney, Becky from Full House, and Kay Panabaker?  And takes place in a California beach town, where it’s permanently summer?  Sign us up.  The show sadly lasted for only 2 seasons but managed to pack a lot of drama in.

4. Young Americans – This show was billed as a “Dawson’s Creek” spinoff, somehow, as it follows a guest-star with a 2-episode arc (Will Krudski, Pacey’s childhood friend) to a prestigious boarding school in New England.  It also stars a young Kate Bosworth and pre-Vampire Diaires Ian Somerholder.  The show, which takes place during the summer and aired as a summer replacement for “Dawson’s Creek” in 2000, only lasted for 8 episodes but brings us warm memories all the same.  I mean just look at the show’s opening credits – it’s basically an Abercrombie & Fitch ad.

5. Bunheads – Another show by “Gilmore Girls” creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, which features the same snappy dialogue, pop-culture references, and many of the actors.  This show was brilliant, funny, and heartwarming all at once, so obviously it was canceled way before it should have been.   Maybe the network execs just couldn’t keep up with the dialogue?

Honorable mention:  The OC – It never occurred to us that “The OC” should be on Netflix because OBVIOUSLY we own all 4 seasons of the greatest show of all time on DVD.  (And season 1 is practically falling apart due to overuse)  But we just realized that it’s not on Netflix and/or Hulu, and it’s a shame for anyone who doesn’t own it.

Twisted Returns to ABC Family February 11th!

Two major things to be excited about this week:  we’re nearly halfway through February!  Which mean’s it’s almost summer, right?  And, more importantly, “Twisted” returns this week!   The show, which premiered on ABC Family over the summer, is back with all new episodes and the conclusion to it’s freshman season.  While we will watch pretty much anything that airs on The CW or ABC Family, we have to admit that “Twisted” is a notch or two above the rest.

Maybe it’s because it reminds us of The Greatest Show of All Time, AKA “The OC.”  Why you ask?

Danny (aka Beck aka Avan Jogia) is Ryan Atwood.  Like Ryan, Danny has that brooding outsider thing down to a T, and a knack for greeting people with a punch in the jaw instead of a hello.   Maybe a habit they picked up in juvy?  Both were also given nicknames “Chino” (Ryan) and “Socio” (Danny) – just in case they forgot where they came from, and share a similar dry sense of humor.  (“They let you watch Glee in prison?” “It was part of our punishment.”)

Rico (Ashton Moio) is Seth Cohen.  Really, we think that Ashton studied old episodes of “The OC” to prepare for his role as Rico, because he has that witty, sarcastic, fast-talking, cute nerdy thing Adam Brody is famous for perfected.   Rico also has a longtime secret crush, and a tendency to say whatever he is thinking, no matter how awkward things may get.  His gradual bonding with Danny is also pretty adorable to watch, and we’re hoping it grows into a bromance to rival Seth & Ryan’s.

Lacey (Kylie Bunbury) is Marissa Cooper.   Most popular girl in school who seems to have it all, but is actually bored by it all, has a secret about her father, falls for the bad boy, do we see a pattern here?   The only thing she is missing is using a Chanel tote bag as a backpack.

Jo (Maddie Hasson) is a female Seth Cohen.  Unlike the rest of the community, Jo immediately welcomes Danny and the return of his friendship.  She’s willing to stand up for him, no matter what, and doesn’t worry what that might mean for her reputation.  A scene in the pilot, where Danny rescues a drunk Jo from a party, by punching the popular jock in the face, reminds us of the infamous “Welcome to The OC, bitch!” beach party scene.

Karen Desai (Denise Richards) is Julie Cooper-Nichol-Cooper-Atwood-we lost track.   It’s only been a half season, and we’ve already seen that Karen Desai is more than capable of rivaling Julie Cooper’s wheeling and dealing.  The biggest thing they have in common, and are often misunderstood for, is that they’d do anything for their children.  There was also some sort of love triangle going on with Jo’s parents, and Danny’s, that gave us serious flashbacks to the Sandy-Kirsten-Jimmy-Julie romantic rhombus of yore.  (We’ll be honest, we don’t pay much attention to the “parent plot lines” on these shows.  Unless Sandy Cohen is involved.)

Tess Masterson (Kimberley Quinn) is Kirsten Cohen.  She dated Mr. Desai in high school, and Karen has always been jealous of this.  (See above romantic rhombus!)   It’s been a while since we took the SATs, but an analogy would be Tess:Mr. Desai as Kirsten:Jimmy Cooper.

Archie (Grey Damon) is Luke Ward.  Danny’s punching bag of choice, Archie knows just what to say to push Danny’s buttons.  The popular jock is also dating Lacey, until she dumps him for Danny.  Still waiting to see if he’ll pull a Luke-like transition.

Mr. Masterson (Sam Robards) is Nate Archibald’s dad, The Captain!  This has nothing to do with “The OC,” but just sharing in case you were wondering why you recognized him.

Check out the trailer for the rest of the season below.  You can catch up on the first 11 episodes of Twisted on Netflix, or during the all-day marathon on ABC Family February 11th.   Don’t miss the premiere following Pretty Little Liars, Tuesday at 9pm!
