August just started and that means summer vacation is almost over! BUT you can pretend that it’s summer forever with this week’s Friday Five: Vacation Songs! These songs are all sunshine in a song with lyrics that drip summer time feelings like an ice cream cone.

Everyone wishes they were on a permanent vacation – that’s the dream right there!

This sums up our feelings about vacation perfectly.
4. The HEYDAZE – Arnold Palmer
No matter where you are, close your eyes and blast this song, and you’ll feel like you’re rockin’ an old tee under a palm tree having a good time under the sunshine.
5. Weezer – Island In The Sun
We can’t hear this song and not think about being on a beach, especially since it played in the Olsen Twin movie of the same name, literally every 5 minutes.
Hunter Hayes just released the last of his digital tracks that have been rolling out all Summer. The “21” EP, named after his current single, is now complete! You can stream the entire EP exclusively on Spotify now.

James Maslow has taken the first step into the music world as a solo artist with a brand new single, “Lies” which he performed live for the first time at VidCon in Los Angeles. He’s been busy in the studio writing songs for what we hope to be his debut solo album! We can’t wait! James, may we suggest the album cover and name as “Breakout Dreams?” Although that really was too much cloud.

We are counting down the days until the release of Thomas Rhett’s new album, “Tangled Up!” He just revealed the track listing for the album, out September 25th, to Rolling Stone. “Tangled Up” will feature Thomas’ current single, “Crash and Burn,” which just broke the top 5 on the country charts. The funky vibes of that track will resonate throughout the album, with Thomas citing Bruno Mars and motown as influences.
Other highlights include fan favorites “South Side” and “T-Shirt,” which Thomas has been playing at his live shows, and a duet with Jordin Sparks. Country darlings Maddie & Tae are going on tour this Fall! They’re bringing Levi Hummon along to get the party started early. This is Maddie & Tae’s first major headlining tour, in support of their debut album “Start Here,” out on August 28th. The duo have had lots of experience on the road this Summer, opening for Dierks Bentley on the Sounds of Summer Tour with Canaan Smith and Kip Moore.
