PVRIS Announce New Album, Release First Single “Heaven”

PVRIS have sent fans into a frenzy recently and it all started with the band accounts deleting all traces of activity and starting with a blank slate. Finally Lynn, Alex, and Brian have announced their sophomore album “All We Know Of Heaven, All We Need Of Hell” will be released on August 4th but they’re throwing us a bone and shared the brand new video for the lead single “Heaven” this morning.

The new song has a lighter, more surf rock feel to it than what PVRIS fans are used to but “Heaven” doesn’t feel like they band are leaving their roots behind.  Lynn’s iconic vocals are as powerful as ever and the song stays true to the bands electronic sound, elevating PVRIS to a whole new stadium level worthy of the high praise the band has received.

SecretFangirls.com Interview Chase Atlantic

We’ve been hyped about Aussie trio Chase Atlantic for the better part of a year and a half and we’re stoked they’ve emerged from hiding with a new sound that is equal parts electronic pop, vibe-y rock, and hip-hop.  Mitchel, Clinton, and Christian dropped the first three songs of what will become their full length album earlier this year and they’re not slowing down with the second set of tracks aptly titled “Part Two.”  The guys just dropped a mini movie for their new song “Triggered” and it flows perfectly with the world they’ve built around the tracks.

We got the chance to speak with Christian, Mitchel, and Clinton about their new songs, what’s next for Chase Atlantic, and the night they partied with The Weeknd and Drake!  Read our interview with the guys below and get into it.

SecretFangirls.com: You guys just put out “Part Two” of what you’ve said will add up to your debut album.   What made you decide to release the new music this way?
Chase Atlantic: We haven’t released music for awhile now, and we wanted to show growth/progression of our sound leading up to the full length release.

You released the video for “Into It” on Snapchat and you’ve been putting the separate single videos together to create a total visual experience. What can we expect from the full “part two” or the final album visual experience?
Your mind will be blown!

“Cassie” was inspired by the character the show Skins and you’ve said you’re pretty big fans of that show. What other shows are you obsessed with right now?
Anything from Parasite/ Tokyo Ghoul (Anime’s) to Stranger things. We usually don’t watch a lot of TV but we highly recommend watching those Anime’s even if you’re not into cartoons. They will literally change your outlook on life! Also, we may have a song based around one of the shows coming out very soon! 😉

How would you describe a Chase Atlantic show for someone who hasn’t seen you live before?
We tend to be a lot more adventurous live. It’s like a rock show meets a hip hop show, we would encourage everyone to come see for themselves!

What are some “must haves” on your tour rider?
Our manager Andrew Spalter, and The Heinekens (or Bud Light, please sponsor us).

What artist would you or have you totally “fangirled” over if you met? Any stories?
We met Abel (The Weeknd) at a bar called Delilah in West Hollywood. We saw him at the bar and we told him how he was a big inspiration to us, and how much we respect him. He was very kind, and very down to earth. We partied together after hours and Drake privately DJ’d for us, it was a fun night.

What’s next for Chase Atlantic?   Any plans for more shows or a US tour?
Keep releasing quality content, and hopefully look to tour before the full album is released.

Where can we find you on social media?

Guest Blog: Jeffrey Miller Takes Over Coachella

16-year-old pop star Jeffrey Miller is having a breakthrough year!  He recently released his debut EP, “RISE,” co-writing 5 of the EP’s 6 tracks, including his new single “Whatever It Takes.”  Jeffrey was also selected as one of the featured artists in iHeartRadio and AT&T’s “About To Break” campaign. The campaign showcases 12 of the hottest new artists on the verge of superstardom alongside artists like AJR and Hey Violet.  Get ready to hear much more from Jeffrey in 2017!

Jeffrey hit the second weekend of Coachella and shared some of his favorite moments with SecretFangirls.com.  Check out Jeffrey’s photo diary & recap of his weekend at the festival!

Jeffrey Miller: Mac Miller’s set was so hype! I fell in love with his most recent album so I wanted to catch his set and see those songs live. It definitely went above and beyond my expectations.

Lorde was one of my favorites from the weekend. I loved her vibe. My friends and I had such a good time singing to her hits in the crowd. We went wild and it made for a great snapchat story. It was also really dope to hear her new music which sounds incredible!

Lady Gaga’s set was amazing! The visuals were so dope and really stood out to me. I was very impressed by her vocals. She sounded and looked incredible.

Kendrick Lamar was definitely my favorite performer at Coachella. I was really excited to see him live for the first time especially after being blown away by his new album, “Damn.” His performance was everything I hoped for and more!!

My friends and I literally blew all our money on the food at Coachella. The milky bun at the ice cream stand was my personal fave I literally got one every day.

I rode the ferris wheel! It was really cool to look down and see the whole festival.

Being an artist myself it was extremely exciting for me to get to see so much live music! Festivals like Coachella are perfect for staying inspired and learning more about music and entertainment. I had the time of my life with my best friends and I want to go back so bad! Everyone should add Coachella to their bucket list.

The Johnsons Release Music Video For “Scream”

There’s some kind of magic in a band of brothers – Jonas Brothers, AJR, and now The Johnsons are setting their sights on becoming your new favorite musical family!  Clayton, Chantry, and Connor Johnson teamed up with Tony Fagensen from Eve 6 to produce their latest single called “Scream” blending both pop and boyband elements with some serious guitar solos.  Musically and lyrically, this song hits all the right notes for a Summer time sing along that you won’t feel guilty about any time soon.

The band just released their brand new video for the single and it’s everything we could have wanted.  The cute Summer date video, directed by Connor, features the guys hanging out on the beach, having dinner by the boardwalk and playing carnival games – definitely a throwback to our favorite classic pop videos!  We can’t wait to hear what these guys are working on next but we’re sure it’s going to be just as upbeat, fun, and catchy!

Album Preview: For The Win “Heavy Thoughts” Out April 14th

San Diego’s own heavy pop punk band For The Win are set to release their most honest album yet this April.  “Heavy Thoughts” is due out April 14th on Artery Recordings and features the band’s most personal lyrics to date blended seamlessly with high energy instruments and vocal harmonies.  We got an early listen of the band’s new album and there’s no sign of a sophomore slump with For The Win!

The album kicks off with a declaration “This is a song for the beaten and broken,” and quickly shifts gears with guitars chugging alongside a steady drum beat on “Us Versus Them.”  Singer Kyle Christensen promises the listener doesn’t have to walk this world alone, which is the overarching message of this album.   Almost every song speaks from the heart about some of those thoughts that sit in the back of your mind all the time.  The first two singles from the album, “Crash And Burn” and “Dancing Shoes” show the dynamic writing both lyrically and musically from the band.

For The Win found the ideal balance between light pop sing along choruses and heavy breakdowns that we’re sure will get the crowd moving during their live shows.  There are a few stand out tracks on this album, “Nowhere To Run” and “How Can I (Get Back To You)” are two of them.  These are two of the more pop hook laden tracks on the album, but lyrically they have the right amount of weight to hold their own against the other tracks on a truly solid sophomore album.

For The Win showcase their softer side as well on the album with the closing track “Until The End Of Time.”   The final track starts as a slow acoustic jam questioning “Do I sit around and wait for change or move ahead to better days without you” and later moves towards a more bitter tone as the drums and a string section fade in.

All in all, these guys are proving that the next generation of melodic hardcore and pop punk are in very good hands. This is an album that not only passed the “driving test” (you know, the one where you plug in the aux cord and just drive aimlessly around town while blasting the album) but it also gets us excited for what’s next from For The Win!

Be sure to grab a copy of “Heavy Thoughts” when it drops April 14th on iTunes, Amazon, and through the band’s official webstore.  Pre-order bundles are available and feature exclusive merch and more!
