MY2K Tour Ft. 98 Degrees, O-Town, and Ryan Cabrera

We all know the greatest era for music was the 90s and early 00s (if we’re getting specific, 1999-2000).  So we were thrilled to hear about a new tour, the MY2K Tour, celebrating the music of Y2K!  The tour is hitting venues across the US this Summer, with some of your favorite artists from that era.  98 Degrees are out on their second major tour since their reunion in 2012, along with O-Town, Ryan Cabrera, and Dream.   The MY2K Tour includes a stop at the Mixtape Festival in Hershey, PA, reuniting 98 Degrees with their Package Tour mates NKOTB and Boyz II Men.

Tickets and VIP packages go on sale Friday April 29th at 10am local time and we can say with confidence, we know what you’re doing this summer!  Click HERE for more info about the MY2K Tour.

NKOTB To Headline Mixtape Festival 2016

Listen To “In The End” from Dead 7 Featuring *NSYNC, BSB, O-Town & 98 Degrees

We’ve been fangirling hard waiting for the premiere “Dead 7,” the zombie movie written by Nick Carter, starring members of *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys, O-Town and 98 Degrees.  And it just got even better. Nick, Howie Dorough, and AJ McLean of Backstreet Boys; Chris Kirkpatrick and Joey Fatone of *NSYNC; Jeff Timmons of 98 Degrees; and Erik-Michael Estrada from O-Town joined forces to record a song for the soundtrack.

The movie premieres this Friday, April 1st at 8pm on SyFy, from the people who brought you “Sharknado.”  AKA this is already the best movie of 2016 and you better be tuned in on Friday night.  Listen to “In The End” from the movie below!

Download the track for free here!  We can only hope this is just the first time that these boybands will join forces!

Nick Carter’s “All American” Tour Hits NYC

Nick Carter’s “All American” Tour hit the Playstation Theatre in NYC over the weekend.  We expected Nick to give 300% on tour, as he does with everything he does, but he was even better than we expected.  The show was divided into three parts with a distinct style – rock star Nick played guitar to start off the night, he broke it down for a more acoustic set wearing a fedora, and ended the night showing off his dance moves.  The show gave Nick a chance to show off his range from boyband pop to rock and back again.

P1480907

Nick managed to find the perfect balance between his solo material and Backstreet Boys songs.  He also threw in “One More Time,” from his project with Jordan Knight of NKOTB. While some solo artists refuse to even acknowledge the group or band they came from, Nick fully embraced his boyband heritage.  He understands that while the crowd is definitely there to support and hear Nick’s new music, odds are they are BSB fans as well.  This made for an insanely fun, high energy show as he surprised us with a mix of songs from all of his solo projects and a mix of Backstreet songs.  We all got to party like we were “19 in 99!”

P1480792

Brian Littrell made a surprise appearance on stage, eliciting lots of 1999 level screaming from the audience.  He joined Nick for “I Want It That Way” and “Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely.” Honestly, the show could have ended right there, but the night was just getting started.  Brian also let it slip that the guys already have six songs recorded for the next Backstreet Boys album! They’re set to put the finishing touches on it very, very soon.

P1480456

Nick got to show off his moves from “Dancing With The Stars,” breaking out into a salsa number after “The Call.”  He ended the night with a series of songs that showed of his lighter side – and Nick is clearly not afraid of make fun of himself or have a good time with his fans.  He’s no stranger to being in front of large crowds but that’s really where Nick Carter shines – on a stage with his fans singing along with him!

The Friday Five: Boyband Solo Projects

Nick Carter’s “All American” Tour is stopping in NYC this weekend, and obviously we’ll be there fangirling out.   As much as we love boybands, it’s also fun when they team up or go solo for other projects.  As long as they come back together (DO YOU HEAR US JT?)  Here are some of our favorite solo projects and duets from boyband members.  Basically, Jordan Knight should just team up with everyone.

1.Jordan Knight ft. Donnie Wahlberg – “Stingy”

2. Joey McIntyre – “I Love You Came Too Late”

3. Nick + Knight – “Paper”

4. Jordan Knight – “Give It To You”

5. Nick Carter – “19 in 99”

The Friday Five: Simple Plan Videos

Simple Plan have been cranking out pure, fun, pop-punk jams with cheeky album titles since the early 2000’s.  Their most recent effort, “Taking One For The Team,” out today, is just what we were expecting from a band that surprisingly hasn’t had any lineup changes, substitutions, temporary (or “permanent”) hiatuses in their 17 year history.  Pickup a copy of the new album on iTunes now!

We’re nostalgic for the days when we literally broke our Simple Plan DVD because we just HAD to watch it every single day after school, begging our parents for a MOTH or Role Model shirt.

Even when they weren’t in heavy rotation on MTV’s “TRL” anymore, Pierre, Chuck, David, Sebastien, and Jeff never quit and neither did our love of Simple Plan’s music.  We had a hard time narrowing down our top five Simple Plan songs, but we did it!

1.I’d Do Anything
Great to see Mark Hoppus make a cameo in this! Never gets old.

2. Don’t Wanna Go To Bed
We love the Baywatch tribute and the boyband feel of the video.

3. Can’t Keep My Hands Off You
Shout out to Blackberry phones!  OH hey Rivers Cuomo guest vocal!

4. Jet Lag
Nice to see the BSB Airport is getting used for long distance love songs (Blink182 – kind of , BTR, now Simple Plan)

5. Shut Up
Oh man, remember “Making The Video”?  We still remember the world premiere of this video like it was yesterday….and sing-screaming it at the top of our lungs because “parents just DON’T understand!!”   They totally do though, hindsight is 20/20.

Watch Nick Carter’s “19 in 99” Video

Nick Carter just dropped the music video for his brilliantly titled new single “19 in 99.”  Don’t we all wish we could go back to 1999?  Think of all the concerts and “TRL” tapings you could go to!  We can’t decide which Nick in the video is our favorite, although we might have to go with Backstreet Nick dressed in all white.  Look out for a familiar pizza delivery man in the video too.  We can’t wait to hear this song on Nick’s upcoming solo tour!  Check out all of the dates HERE!  Watch “19 in 99” below!

Listen to “Something New” by Zendaya

Zendaya just dropped a new track, “Something New,” and it’s like she knew what a 90s kick we’ve been on lately (and by lately we mean all the time).  Zendaya samples TLC’s “Creep” in the track, which was also produced by Kenny “Babyface” Edmunds.   Listen to “Something New” below and get ready to swag it out!
