Lauv and LANY are two rising artists to watch in the new year and they just teamed up on a brand new single, “Mean It.” Lauv is gearing up to drop his 21-track debut album ~how i’m feeling~ on March 6th, 2020 and LANY are back in the studio writing and recording their third studio album set for a Summer 2020 release date.
Lauv said on the collaboration, “I started ‘Mean It’ from the perspective of what I thought somebody might want to say to me (I’m not perfect and I’ll be the first to admit it). Paul and I had been talking about working together for a long time, then one day I texted him the idea for the song and it just clicked. So we all got in the studio and had a grand ol’ time finishing the record. I’ve been a fan of LANY for a long time, and I think it’s a perfect blend of our two sounds, so I’m super stoked and honored to have this song together.”

You can usually tell how far an artist is going to make it based on the crowd’s reaction. After seeing Kid Quill on his first headlining tour, we know he’s on his way to the top. The crowd was hype from the minute he walked on the stage until the last encore, enthusiastically singing, jumping, and dancing along the entire show. Kid Quill’s gone from “the opener,” on tour with artists like Bryce Vine, to headlining his own “Meet Me at Sunset” Tour across the US.
The tour was in support of his latest album, “Sunset Diner,” which draws inspiration from music of the 70s and 80s combined with his modern hip-hop sound.
We caught up with Kid Quill before the last night of tour at Mercury Lounge in NYC. Watch our interview and learn about his favorite part of touring, what’s coming next, and his go-to diner meal.

Alexander 23 is the greatest sad boi songwriter you haven’t met yet. His debut EP, “I’m Sorry I Love You,” is a collection of moments in time encapsulating heartbreak, existential dread and dying, love, and of course growing up. We first met Alexander Glantz when he was a fresh faced, self taught drummer in THE HEYDAZE (rip). He’s grown up a little more since then and he’s ready to make his mark as a solo artist in the industry.
“I’m Sorry I Love You” displays Alexander 23’s songwriting and producing skills that have garnered high praise from the likes of Chelsea Cutler and Tana Mongeau-Paul, a feature on the latest soundtrack for Netflix’s hit series “13 Reasons Why”, and landed him coveted spots on several prominant “New Music Friday” playlists, as well as Amazon’s “Song Of The Day.” That’s a lot of awesome for the promising new artist.

Alexander 23 is heading overseas with Lola Zouai and then back Stateside for his last several shows of 2019 including a stop at Brooklyn Steel in NYC with Omar Apollo. He also just announced that he will be supporting Chelsea Cutler on the “How To Be Human” Tour hitting cities across North America in the Spring of 2020. Alexander 23 is also featured on Chelsea’s latest single, “Lucky,” and you’ll be lucky to catch them singing it on tour together!
